CLEEEEAR!!

3 HUGE REASONS

If you break down all the x's and o's, I give the Niners a slight edge on paper (3 points by my numbers). Not nearly the edge the Broncos or the Patriots commanded against the Ravens the past 2 weeks. I strongly feel that the following 3 items are being overlooked in this game. I believe that these are HUGE and I mean HUGE advantages for the Ravens in an otherwise very close match-up.

1. QUARTERBACK

To keep this as simple as possible, Joe Flacco is a BIG GAME player. Kyle Kaepernick is not.

Flacco has proven that he comes up big in the big game. His level of play rises in the postseason especially the last 2 years. He played more than well enough to win the AFC last year (4-1 last 2 years). Joe now has 12 postseason games (8-4 record) to his experience. Joe Cool is confident, capable and mentally ready for the BIG game. He is making passes that are just undefendable, and with Bolden and Torrey making the ridiculous catches they have been, neither the Bronco's world beating defense or the new and improved Patriot defense have slowed Flacco down

Kaepernick has started 11 NFL games, and yes has looked superb. He looked superb in his 4 year career at Nevada also, putting up sick numbers and lots of points and wins to go along with it. Colin led his Wolf Pack to 4 straight bowl games. However, that is where his success stopped. Kaepernick flat out choked in the "big game" all 4 years. They managed to win just the last of his 4 bowl games, a 20-13 win over the offensively retarded (yes I said it) Eagles of Boston College. He rushed for only 22 yards that game, threw a INT after only throwing 2 all year and threw for a modest 20 for 33 for 192, all statistics way down from his season averages. The 3 years before that were all Bowl game losses. In 2009, he scored only 10 points after averaging over 35 pts/game that season. Again rushed for only 23 and threw for 155 yards. WAY DOWN. In 2008, he lost to the mighty Terps, threw for 3 INTS and rushed for a whopping 15 yards. His freshman year he got shut out throwing 13 for 31. His history says: BIG GAME=BIG CHOKE.

Flacco has more playoff experience than Kaepernick has NFL experience. I see the QB advantage for the Ravens in this game as HUMONGOUS!

By the way only 3 QBs in history have thrown for 8+ TDs and ZERO INTs in the playoffs. Their Superbowl record? 3-0

2. Kicking

Justin Tucker vs David Ackers. Ackers was a 65% kicker the last half of the year. He made only 2 out of 7 kicks over 40 yards and missed 3 of 16 inside 40 yards. Ackers went 1 out of 2 in the playoffs so far. Everyone on of his stats were below the league average. Tucker was most impressive his rookie year. He went a perfect 16 of 16 inside 40 yards. Tucker was impressive going 4 for 4 outside of 50 yards and 10 of 13 from 40-49. Tucker sent 30 out of 33 kicks through the uprights for the season plus added on 2 for 2 in the playoffs including a 47 yard game winner in double overtime after going 4 hours without a field goal opportunity.

If this is a close game and comes down to the kickers, the Ravens have another ENORMOUS edge in this category.

3. Intangibles

The Ravens feed their players antlers to chew on. How can you beat that? Seriously, this entire escapade will do nothing but "agitate" Ray Lewis and it has pissed him off. As if he or his team need any more motivation, now they have this "us against the world" mentality. It worked brilliantly in 2000 with the Ray Lewis trial so fresh in everyone's mind.

The Ravens honestly believe that they are destined to win by a higher force. SERIOUSLY! When you buy into that mentality, you can become invincible. The Ravens have taken down 2 huge favorites and 2 future HOF quarterbacks to get here. They pulled a 4th and 29 out of their ass just to make the playoffs (they don't get in if they lose that game).

The Ravens are loose, having fun and enjoying the moment. They had "the best practice of the year" on Wednesday (Jan 30). The 49ers seem tight and serious. Jimbo Harbaugh is a tense, freak-out coach and his tension is spilling over to his team. That is NOT a healthy state of mind to be in heading into a big game. The Ravens are riding this magic carpet ride all the way to the Superbowl win.

Prediction: Ravens 30 49ers 21

Play: Ravens +3.5

Good Luck to All

Props will be posted late Saturday. I have won $ both weeks I posted props so far on the Ravens playoff games.

You're dead on. I just don't have the ability to express myself in writing very well.

Tucker vs Ackers is huge and through all the videos I have watched and all the articles I have read about this Superbowl, this HUGE advantage hardly gets any attention at all.

People still don't believe in Flacco. The only people that KNOW Joe is the real thing are the ones who watch him every single week, every single snap.

Joe doesn't have the completion percentage that everybody and their grandmother think is so important. And everybody has the blinders on when it comes to his winning percentage and playoff winning percentage. "He's not consistent".

Not to mention that Cam Cameron was actually holding Joe back. Play calling was horrible and people saw that but they only saw it in prime time, not week after week, snap after snap. With the revised OL and Caldwell, both improving every week, this offense is the real deal. They still won't believe it after Sunday. Oh well.

When Ray was asked why other teams, that normally have good defense, have difficulty with this the Niner's offense, Ray said it's all communication. It's all in knowing how you're going to defend each play. It's having the whole team on the same page. Ray can communicate.

Other than going to team meetings and practice and talking to the media, all Ray does is sit in his room studying films. By Sunday there won't be a single person in the world, outside of the niners, that knows that offense better than Ray does. They WILL defend.

Kaep is way too confident. The wake-up call will come on his first snap, his first interception, his frustration gaining yards against this experienced Ravens defense. This defense is peaking and healthy and haven't played as well as they are now in years.

Niner's have been letting themselves get behind early in games recently and making huge comebacks. They better not let that happen on Sunday. If they do that against the Ravens on Sunday, there will be no looking back and it will become a boring blowout. Watch!

Shutting down Luck, shutting down Manning the last 4 quarters and shutting down Brady in the 2H only allowing Brady 13 points should make a statement but everybody has the blinders on. Oh well.

Good luck, Rattler. Let's finish it this time and bring it back to Baltimore.

They still won't believe but we will know. :toast:

CAN'T FUCKING WAIT! :00hour

Eventually people will learn, nothing is gauranteed, and no matter how confident you are, it is a lot easier to accept a loss when you aren't shoving your face full of crow tat tastes like the ravens buttoles....like broncos and patriot "gaurantees"

This is why I love ya rattler, you have a opinion, explain why it is your opinion, and never claim to be a gaurantee or a lock....

Gl to ya man....will be rooting with ya...

I am playing ravens as well.....don't claim to know anything for sure or have a gaurantee, just hope its the right side....gl rattler...

Yea Kapernick really look bad in his 1st Regular season big game vs the Pats on the road..
And Yea he really looked bad vs the Packers in his 1st Post Season NFL game.
And Yea he really looked bad in his 1st Post Season Road game in the NFL...

Flacco is a so so QB the Ravens team should not be here in the Super Bowl but the only reason they are is Pure Luck ala the Broncos blew it and Emotional Emotional Emotional Drive is the main factor that they have a shot beating the Superior Team in the 49ers....
If Kapernick limits mistakes this is the making of a Blow Out...
The Niners Oline and Dline win this game

Rattler, you have been spot on all year long with the purple team, however...
The only way your Ravens win is by turnovers, period. X's and O's tell me that the Ravens can't/won't play man to man in their secondary because Kapernick will make them pay with his feet. Imagine Ray Lewis trying to tackle him? Zone all day means a big game by Davis and Crabtree. On defense, the Niners can take away Rice with their front 4, then we will see how "great" Joe Cool is with no running game and 6 or 7 DB's to beat.

Niners are better on both sides of the ball up front and should steamroll the Ravens. BUT... like I said, if SF turns the ball over (NE) or gives up big plays(Denver) then this will be a nailbiter. Tough to cap those...

JMO, I'd say good luck but as a Steelers fan I just can't stomach the words. :0corn

And I totally appreciate and respect that. I went out and bought a Packer Jersey for the big game 2 years ago. We made life a living hell for Steelers fans at work the next day as I am sure they will do to us should the unforeseeable happen and the Ravens lose.

Thanks for your input Gags .... :toast:

More thoughts to ponder... Heard this on ESPN radio this morning. The Ravens defense hasn't faced a read option offense all year other than Washington. The only mobile QB's they played were RG3 and Vick, both loses. Can they stop SF's offense? Beat Luck, Manning, and Brady in the playoffs, all pocket passers.

they face one every day in practice....and btw...the ravens have been on the minus side of the ledger statistically throughout the playoffs(with the exception of the pats`and colts` defenses)...and they`re arguably the most road hardened/tested playoff team over the last few years....

the superbowl isn`t about the best team on paper...it`s about momentum....both teams have it,,,

we`ll see who has the mo sunday....i think the big question is the 2 week layoff...some teams don`t handle a two week lull as well as others...lots of variables...and both teams should be relatively healthy...

`bout 40 hours till we find out...

Face it every day in practice? The last 10 days? Run by who, Dixon? This will be the most unique offense they have faced all year and the best defense they have seen in the playoffs. Your right, ole mo has an influence but does the 2 week layoff hurt them? I expect a slow conservative start by both.

tyrod taylor.....arguably the quickest feet in the nfl.....he doesn`t bring the passing acumen of kaepernick...but`s he`s twice as elusive and faster on his feet...

can`t think of a better scout team qb with running ability to practice against...a guy that`s even quicker and more elusive than the guy you`re about to face...
