Vegas Baby !!
hmm, cab fares... Guess I need to know the tips on how not to get swindled by the cabbies, customary fares, customary tips, etc., because I'm sure that I will scream tourist noob when I'm there. :SIB

First off,.............at the airport, tell the cabbie that you are BACK in town, and NO TUNNEL out of the airport !!

Never fall for the "freeway is faster" deal from the airport. Monte Carlo should be a $12-14 ride .

Cabbies are like waiters/waitreses. They survive on tips. If the service sux, .oh well, they get stiffed. If the service was good, tip accordingly.

"the bunker"
"she's got everything delightful
she's got everything i need
takes the wheel when i'm seeing double
pays my ticket when i speed

she come skimming through rays of violet
she can wade in a drop of dew
she don't come and i don't follow
waits backstage while i sing to you

she can dance a cajun rhythm
she can handle my four wheel drive
she's a summer love in the spring, fall and winter
she can make happy any man alive"....

throw that in a card and see how fast you get laid...

monte carlo on fire:scared

Just got back from Vegas...Monte Carlo closed until it's been fixed. The top floors that burned look like sh!t from a distance.

Saw one of the Las Vegas building inspectors on the news there...he said the outside of the building, at least on the top part of the building, was adorned by some "highly flamable material" that was used because it was plyable and could be moulded for designs. Then he added that since the Monte Carlo was built, the building codes have changed...

The Monte Carlo is going to have to remove all that material from the outside of the building...:scared

from the Monte Carlo website... I would be foolish to cancel my reservation. Those other properties are all nice, and I'm sure they might add a perk or 2?
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////

As you may know by now, on Friday, January 25 there was a rooftop fire at Monte Carlo. We are grateful to be able to report that all of our employees and guests were safely evacuated as a result of the quick and efficient reaction of our employees and our county fire department.

If you had plans to stay with us at Monte Carlo during the coming days and weeks, I?m certain you have many questions. I?ve created the following ?Frequently Asked Questions? (FAQs) document to try to respond to as many of your questions as I could anticipate.

If you have additional questions about a pending visit, please call 1-888-395-0776. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this causes you.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Monte Carlo very soon.

Sincerely,

Anton Nikodemus

i'm sure that the mirage corp. will do the right thing with you..i always found them pretty accomodating......especially if you explain it's a special occasion....if you can get the mirage, mandalay bay, paris, or the bellagio for the same price that you were guaranteed at the monte carlo...take it !!

Vegas Baby !!
Don't let these guys jack you off. A lot of people that were booked at the M/C are getting the song & dance that

" All other properties are booked except Circus Circus & Excalibur".

Don't fall for this bullchit line. MGM/Mirage owns evreything on the west side of the boulevard except Caesars, and MGM on the east.

So, I wouldn't settle for anything less than:

Mandalay Bay
Bellagio
MGM Grand
Mirage
Treasure Island

Circus Circus and Excalibur are toilets.

Be very frank and assertive, and they will accommodate you !!

Paris isn't owned by MGM/Mirage.

Besides, it's not HIS fault it caught fire !!

hmm, all guests rescheduled thru the 12th. I arrive on the 25th. I called, and they said I would be accomodated at a sister property. She read them off to me, and Circus Circus brought up the rear of course :nono: Don't want to get stuck in that chithole, that's for should! I think I'll make a few calls...

I meant for him to be STERN with the MGM/MIRAGE people about the fire not being HIS fault. It is their responsibility to accomodate him with at least a paralell move, and not a shithole property !!

My 2 sentences were independent of each other !
Sorry for the confusion !!
