pretty good flick.

6.5 out of 10. Pretty good ending for a change, but a little slow in the beginning. I'm not disappointed I went. I'm also very tough on movies, so 6.5 is good.

totally different movie. Departed was an 8 to 8.5. I would say a good target audience for this movie would be fans of the Departed as long as you don't go in expecting it to be that good.

Okay, good to know. I'd give The Departed a 9.0 or 9.5, so we're probably on the same page with taste.

they technically didn't make it together and shot the dinner scene at different times. they didn't even see each other once during shooting. but it was a great flick

have "departed" on dvd and haven`t watched it because i can`t believe matt damon or marky mark as leading men/hero types(you have to at least shave to be believable as a bad ass)....probably never will....

on the other hand,i have "no country for old men" on dvd and am very anxious to see this one....

Believe it or not, Mark "Marky Mark" Wahlberg is a hell of an actor. He's one of my favorites now, and his character, Sergeant Digman is fantastic. Damon is also a great actor. The Departed is much, much better than no country.

then you need to see the ridiculous "shooter".....

just can`t watch a guy that looks like a teenager as a hero-type....and looks aside,mark can`t act his way out of a paperbag,imo...

nicholson is the reson to see this movie....its not one of scorsese's best imo (raging bull was)....but he was due one so the academy picked this one to give him best director oscar...

we agree on most scorcese stuff...goodfellas and taxi driver being pretty darned near perfect.....
