i have no less than 14 emails telling me about this post robert made on another forum and i wanted to say something about it.

here is the post:

"Well gentlemen I have spent the last few days trying to figure out how to say this and all I could figure out was the direct approach. As you all know I recently had a very serious seizure and the doctors have finally figured out why, I have a tumor and the prognosis is not very good so I am going to be taking time to spend with my wife and two boys. I will fulfill all of my obligations to current customers but will not be taking on any more. I wanted to let everyone know what was going on so that when my site goes down and I am not posting much people won't think bad things. So good luck in all that you play and I will see you when I am done kicking the big C's ass".

robert irish has been a member of madjacks for a long time. he's helped many of us with our handicapping and helped with good information to help us beat the man. none of that is important anymore because he's got a big battle to face now. he's got questions, uncertainies, 2 children and a wife to spend time with, bills, bills, bills. i read that health insurance was something they didn't have -- can you imagine what this man faces?

robert, my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. i can't imagine what goes through your mind daily now. i want to help and will be sending out a check on monday or tuesday. i know this is something that makes you uncomfortable with and, i too, feel uncomfortable posting this on my forum without your knowledge. i know you aren't asking for help but i think you're going to need it and will help in any way i can. i FEEL for you and your family. you've made a lot of friends out here and we're like family as well and we're here to help when one of our 'buds' needs it.

take care brother and spend the time you need with your family and friends. stay strong and beat this thing. it can be done and has been done before. a positive attitude is the most important thing you can have in times like this and i know you're going to fight this and make it through, no matter what some doctor may have said.

if anybody else wants to help robert out:

hell, even $5 could help make this man's life a little easier at this point and could 'maybe' bring a smile to his face.

let's pitch in guys!

sincerely,

jack

Jack, thanks for posting this.

Robert, you are a class act and I will keep you in my prayers daily until you are back to 100% again soon. Jack hit the nail on the head when he told you to keep a positive attitude and outlook. Things will work out in the end. Take care. I know you are not looking for financial help, but I put a small amount in the mail today, as a token of my appreciation for all the great reading you have provided me in the years that I have been here.

Thanks, Robert, and good luck.

Mike

Jack I don't know what to say. For you to go to the trouble to post this has me speechless, and has a lump in my throat. To see that I am truly thought of as a family member here has me just speechless. As you know I am very uncomfortable with the whole aspect of this donation thing as I have always done for myself and never asked anyone for anything. Unfortunately reality is that the costs are overwhelming and some very good friends told me what a jerk I was being by being so proud and was bluntly told to stop being a dumb f***. I am not comfortable with it but have now realized that no matter how much I protest my friends are going to help me (much like I would if the shoe was on the other foot) so I have given in. I owe you more than I could ever repay. I just hope one day to have the opportunity to pay you and all of the others back one day.

RobertB,
I have responded at another forum as well where I first found out but I want you to know that we all think of you as family also. I know you will beat this thing so stay stong and keep in good spirits as that is all you can control. It is in God's hands now and all of us will do what we can for you. If there is absolutely ANYTHING I can do from a personal standpoint, please let me know. I will be sending $ as well but beyond that let me know. Thanks for being there when we have needed you and now it is our turn to repay the favors.
GL & PEACE, HAIL:(

Hi Robert,

I wish you a speedy recovery and hope that all goes well. My prayers go out to you and your family, and wish you nothing but the best during this difficult time. I have followed your plays many times and I send you many thanks for your efforts. I also will be sending you a US money order since I heard that if I send you Canadian they rip you off. Please update us on your health status whenever possible.

GOD BLESS

In addition, can I just quickly add that my wife , sister in law and also a close friend of mine are very accomplished RN's. While none specialize in "C" related illnesses, they are very knowledgeable in general medicine. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to get in touch and ask. Sometimes terms, directions etc. seem verry confusing to a lay person. Now, please dont let me offend anyone in healthcare industry, that is not my aim. But it is everyday work to them and at times things are done quickly and not explained fully, directions sometimes are vague, etc. All of this will be new to you.......so if there are any questions that you may have, I will be glad to try to dig up any answers that I can. They all offer one piece of advice.........make sure you understand everything, from what types of medicines you take to why things are done a certain way. Ask, Ask & ask more. Even get to the library or puter to research if necessary. Do not be afraid to get another opinion anywhere down the line.
My e mail address will be in your envelope. GL& we'll Hit This One Back Really Hard...........THE HITMAN

Robert.....

Robert.....

I'm almost ashmed for the small amount but I will send a money order today. I'm going through a divorce and it's costing me an arm and a leg. My problems seem awful small right about now however. The thread was locked on another board but I wanted to wish you the best my Irish brother.

Along with the money order I'll send some prayers your way. Hang in there my man.
