He claims he bet them every night because it would look more shady if he only bet them 60% of the time or whatever. I don't believe that, but I would not mind having him as a manager. He gets more pub by not being in the Hall than vice-versa. The all-time hit leader is not in the Hall?? To me, that discounts the Hall of Fame more than not inducting him imo.

I heard he fathered Anna's baby

Off Shore Odds:

yes +330
no -450

over 1 1/2 kids +780
under 1 1/2 kids - 1100

I heard Rose bet yes for 10 units
And the under for 50 units

Guess his memory isn't that great........

still should be in the Hall. The whole thing is a joke and always has been. A baseball HOF without Pete Rose is just silly.

I think every manager/coach should have to bet on his team, maybe he would think about some of the moves he makes during the games. just a thought.

Ronnie Santo should admit he bet on baseball. Should get him into the Hall then.

Give something to the local lemmings. Their pitching staff isn't gonna.

I totally agree. Currently watching Mavs/Suns and I see how fired up Cuban's buddy is...I thought to myself.."I wonder how much action this guy probably has to get that excited?"

Pay for performance is a good thing in coaching imo

I think that the reason he came out and admitted that he bet on the Reds to win EVERY game, is in order to deflect some of the criticism he was previously receiving. By that, I mean that the argument was made that while he didn't bet AGAINST his team (a truly unforgivable sin), that he nevertheless improperly influenced the outcome of games (the thought being that if he had the Reds on one given night, he was more apt to go all out to win THAT game, which could negatively impact the team in another game if, say for example, a player was used in the game he had bet on, and was therefore unavailable for the next game).

By saying he bet on them to win EVERY game, he avoids the accusation that his gambling affected the outcome of games, and thus affected the integrity of the game as a whole.

Pretty clever actually. Now he can plead his case to get into the Hall, and say that his gambling did not impact the integrity of the game.

No........Just pretty Pete Rose! This guys has stepped on his dick more than a Georgia plow mule! He lies about as clever as a five year old does.....

Christ, they have records showing his betting for weeks, if not months, right? I don't recall any mention at the time about daily wagers on the ol Reds!

I believe the Dowd Report reached that conclusion.

Pete Rose the baseball player was "the man", the man, Pete Rose is a piece of crap. The guy will say anything to get what he wants. Integrity has no meaning to him.

Rose should be more worried about not going
to hell than getting into the Hall.

I think buddy told me that.
