Damn, do I ever hate hockey. Bores me to tears. Olympic hockey is more enjoyable, but still sucks imo. The NHL crap is horrible imo, particularly the fighting, which I find embarassing.

I watch tons of hockey and watch tons of all sports for that matter..
#1.. You say that Ryan Miller is the #1 athlete in the US.. Yes he is a great athlete but #1.. Now that is a joke..
#2. Most important to his team.. Well you have a better argument for that but Peyton Manning (hate him) is the most important, also Kobe and Crosby are mor important.. Because they WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS!! This will close the case.. Who the fuck cares about the Buffalo Sabres. :shrug: I love listening to their TV play by play guy scream and get excited but Ryan Miller is not going to bring them to the cup this year. So there is no way a goal tender for a FIFTH place team in the east is more important to their team than a QB that wins and brings a team to the cusp of winning the superbowl.
I know in hockey anything is possible.. The Northstars in 91 almost won the cup as an 8th seed. But until Miller wins a Cup for Buffalo he is not more important.

The love for Nascar has been mostly a fad for most areas up north.. Bars don't even have NASCAR parties anymore. I guess the Northerners need more intrigue than watching Billy Bob drive left all day.
Yeah there are fights in the NHL but nothing like it used to be.. I don't mind the minimal amounts of fighting that takes place now. Hockey is game that is much better to watch live.. You need to have the crowd atmosphere and see how the plays develop.. TV just does not do this sport justice
Yeah I read it.. Manning is most important to his team in ANY SPORT.. WIthout Manning the Colts would not have made the playoffs. I know how important a goalie is.. Now he was the most important player to US but still isn't like Manning..

Dont fool yourself into thinking this will change a thing or the passion your country has for this will ever make it to the mainstream of this country. Will not watch another hockey game until 2014. Again, wanted the US to win, but didn't shed a tear and actually would have felt bad because half of Canada would have committed suicide while we would have laughed and just talked more about how it was funny torturing Canucks.
