The mistake everyone is making is in comparing the State Jobs with Private Industry. They are two entirely different things. To most basic example is that the State is not in it to make a profit, nor can it because it gives it's services away for free to those who need the. While the private sector is trying to make a profit. A very big differnce.

These services are not given away for FREE to a TAX PAYING CITIZEN! The TAX PAYER PAYS for these SERVICES with THEIR TAXES!!!
They are GIVEN AWAY FOR FREE to the DEAD WEIGHT that PAYS NO TAXES (47%) or a MINISCULE AMOUNT (sales tax)...

My point is that, for the most part, the state provides services to those who need them without charge. Yes, taxes pay for the services but the individual is not charged. The state cannot make a profit on the services it provides. While the private sector charges the individual for services and is in it to make a profit.
There is a very big difference. The state can't just go and up their fees to make a profit. In fact when things are bad and the taxes coming in are the lowest is when the State is providing most of it's services. It is the opposite of the Private Sector.

Don't be stupid, Hedge.

You know that the unions have agreed to the healthcare and pension employee contributions.

What they will never agree to is letting Walker take their collective bargaining rights from them.

What is it you like about him. The fact that unions that supported him are not being targeted? How do you think that will play in court?

Wrong. He's a civil servant who's overstepped his authority.

By virtue of the democratic election process, he does have a mandate to balance the budget, but he does NOT have the authority to strip worker's of their collective bargaining rights.

Apparantly.......That's not true.

I skimmed through his 144 page "bill", and it's a hoot and a half.

There are power plants at several state run facilities. This "bill" has plans to either sell or lease them.

Not through a bidding proccess. No...there is no provision for that. The decision goes to the Joint Finance Committee, and they have 14 working days to review, make recommendation, etc......but after 14 days, if they have done nothing, the right to make any decision on the plant(s) goes back to the department in charge, and they have carte blanche to sell/lease it at will.

I wonder if the Koch brothers are in the market for "fire sale" power plants in Wisconsin? Lease 'em for nothing, and rape the state with the charge back!

One of the biggest pieces of shit there is.. at 2:54 he says, "how do you feel about the average city teacher making over one hundred thousand dollars a year, how do you feel about that." If you ignorant hicks believe this than you are the weak lead to slaughter.
When the woman is yelling this is for our kids, she in not referring to students per say she is referring to the kids that will join the workforce in years to come. If you take away now you are really going to fuck the kids who want to teach in the future. that is what I got out of it. Fucking a republican can tell these southern hicks or northern neocons that piss is blue and they are so stupid that they cannot think for themselves.

Don't forget what has happened to the spread between the average workers pay and the top executives pay the past 15 years or so. Perhaps if the private sector pay had been equitable we would not have these problems today. The problem is not the state workers the problem is too few making too much in the private sector.

I don't think that is a well thought out reply Hog?

I don't really know what an educator is worth for a school year? That being said, $100K for their time, depending on how much time of service doesn't really seem that much. How much should a rookie thru 5-7 years make? Should teachers be forced to join the union? Or any other public servant for that matter be forced to pay dues into a union that does not represent %100 of the members?

Someone from outside this whole mess has to have a better solution to make all parties happy.

All of us benifit from UNIONIZED LABOR in some sort of fashion. Every day, we encounter a Union Worker if we know it or not.

I am not a huge fan of Unions, but I understand their purpose. I have a relative who sits high up in a Union Position, so high that he has the Governor on speed dial. I talk to him weekly and get the "dump" on Union Happenings. My Uncle was a very powerful man in the Stevedores Union as well, and quite Libertarian. Like most, all Union Men, he despises Wal Mart, DUH ! He made it a goal to flip off every store he drove by.

We have a great divide of the classes, and the sepration is only getting larger. We are heading towards a feudal state There needs to be a greater understanding that this is happening, not the keyboard commando yelling and name calling.

Wait a second.....

Hedgie this why it is hard to take your political views seriously. Why? Because you pose yourself as one of the mindless simpletons that follow and not think for yourself. You believe everything you hear.

Do you really believe that average teachers are making that much money? If they are then i am going to transfer credits and go back to college. Why do you believe everything you hear? That is the trouble with politics. You are so bent on a certain party that you believe everything that these radio guys tell you. Formulate your own thoughts and opinions.

The average salary for public school teachers in Wisconsin is not $100K. If you heard this from Micheal Savage, he LIED to you. The average salary for public school teachers in Wisconsin is $46K.

Don't be stupid, Hedge.
