In fact, when exactly 50% of the SEC have winning records, and 50% has losing records, how can you blame the records of shitty teams on playing good teams??? They play just as many losing teams as winning teams, because the conference is split 50/50. Your theories dont add up

I got work to do. I'll be back tonight with another lesson in common sense for you

Yet ANOTHER page from the "irrelevant" book. Check your own source pal. "2004-05 academic year". This has NOTHING to do with the 2005-06 football season!

Even if it WAS applicable, what does profitabiilty have to do with which conference has stronger teams?

This guy pulls more irrelevant stats out of his ass then anyone in history...his only argument is on the polls which is weak at best...he doesn't call himself a homer but did anyone else notice the last three letters of his user-name...there are just some people who are blind to the truth...quit wasting your time Derek this guy won't concede you've proved the validity of your argument in which everyone but one person agrees...and hey did you know that the SEC has more championships then any other conference?

Again I try to walk, then you just embarass yourself.

Physical year? Try F-I-S-C-A-L year.

and No, the 2004-05 academic year runs from, guess what? Fall 2004 through spring 2005. Guess when football season is? FALL 2005! Wrong again. I wouldnt expect someone like you to understand what an academic year is though. Nevermind

When you file your taxes in Jan. 2006, you are getting money paid in 2005. The academic year of 2004-05 includes August-December of 2004, which is irrelevant for 2006 purposes. The academic year of 2005-06 would cover the 2005 football season (fall 05-spring 06). The academic year of 04-05 includes football in 04. Your numbers our outdated, sorry!

WINS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES THOM whatever YOUR a yankee so stick up for your bud and boys no problem here. AND YES SEC has more bowl victories in history of bowls and most National championships since they started being crowned. Had more teams than any other conference with 9 victories or more last year!! No rankings there!! Like I said until you or any other conference matches or exceeds any of these numbers(NEVER HAPPEN) Nothing you say matters or is relevant!!

look plain and simple the SEC on average is at the top but the conference was down last season and if you can't see that well I don't know what else to say...conference is a lot like teams sometimes their up and and sometimes their down...and the SEC was down last year and the SEC should bounce right back this season...I mean how long as it been since Tenn hasn't gone to a bowl...the conference just wasn't at its best last season...and man just jokes about the Bayou and no harm intended

so you are a telemarketer, I was wondering where you could possibly get a job. Good thing that doesnt involve any writing or sound logical arguments or I dont think you would be around still.

Done with the argument. Big Ten better than SEC this past football season. Forget history, forget 2004 "physical" tax year, forget how many teams in the top 25, big ten better P-E-R-I-O-D. Not saying they necessarily will be better next year...W/o penn state's dream season SEC probably woulda had it. Just give the Big ten credit and stop being bitter.

The key to being a homer is being able to see both sides of the argument and admit when your favorite team or conference was not the best. This is one of those times for you. Good luck next season. Now that I know you are a telemarketer, I'm sorry for making fun of you when you lost your bets.

LOL this has to be one of the funniest thing i have read on the board. What made it even sweeter was that dvlsu went on to say he was "too busy" to spell it right, when he actually spelled the word he wanted right. How to you "mispell" fiscal, physical?
You guys ever seen that fedex commercial where the guy calls the other guy out saying hes always wrong and says they aren't "french" benefits they are "fringe" benefits. I dont know, really reminded me of that.

On a side note, we need to end this discussion, I think Derek and other cappers around here have done enough to prove to a neutral mind that BIG10 had a better conference LAST YEAR. Cant wait till august though so we can argue about relevant stuff though. Anyone know what happened to Scooter?

Rehab? Perma-ban? You woulda thought he'd chime in at least once by now.

I think its time to put Dlvlsu on the block list. Every time I try to end our debate he just says something so dumb or easy to make fun of that I get lured right back in.

Guys the reason this thread is longer than a novel is that SEC folks take their football seriously! Now I am from Wisconsin, and have lived in Miami, Utah, Atlantic City, and southern cal. I have seen football fans and been to games of every conference, hell I am from Green Bay! I know what a football fan looks like. There is nowhere, where football is more important than the south east, LSU, Bama, Auburn, Florida, Tenn. SEC football fans absolutley live for football season! When you try to argue that with a SEC fan its like argiung with your wife, even though you might me right, you're damm wrong. The greatest experience of my entire life was running on the field after LSU's shocking 28-21 win over Florida in 1997. They were the defending national champs and had a ton of streaks on the line when they came to death valley. That game literally changed my life and the way I view the culture of college football, and I am from Green Bay and have gone to hundreds of games. SEC football games are the most fun I have had, outside the bedroom. If you are trying to discount the SEC because of our bowl record you are foolish, look at Notre Dames bowl record, UTEP probably has a better bowl record? Does that mean Notre Dame is lousy, absolutley not. The sec is top to bottom strong and our in conference games beat us up a lot more than most conferences. Defense Exibit A, look at Texas last year who really tested them in conference? The big 12 was poop absolute poop last year, While LSU had to face a very good UGA team Texas is piss pounding Colorado, (who is thinking about the placekicker chic they use to bang and not playing football). USC is not even playing a conference championship. Its a bunch of sh -t. The truth is the SEC beats each other up all season then plays a tough championship game, and then we have to defend ourselves because our bowl record was not stellar 1 year.

Stupid comment and thanks for non-biased input which for some reason you think you are because you've lived in a few different time zones but then you use comments like "we" when referring to the SEC, Columbus and the whole state live for the fall...chit man Buckeye fans think its national news everytime the teams plays, which I know is absurd...OSU could lose a great basketball coach in Matta just for the simple reason that football reigns king...just like in Texas and Notre Dame for their following...gimme a break, Big Ten was the better conference last season, Derek's post with the numbers say it all...higher wining % with a better SOS, enough said

And why can't these SEC fans spell, I mean there is even a spell check option

One of my profs asked the class to guess which region of the country had the most people living under the poverty level. Half the class guessed the SOUTH and we were correct.

They say lack of education and poverty are directly correlated. Maybe some of these "football diehards" need to graduate high school before arguing about college football teams.

The SEC bias has NOTHING to do with fans "loving their teams more". True fans everywhere love their team. Judging by the name calling, the inability to develop coherent fact-supported arguments, and stubborn denial of reality are more a product of lack of education. See: dlvlsu
