Why all the foul language? I don't think I could ever meet you in public with your foul mouth. Get some manners.
That is what the *** are for! :00hour

Wrong again Mags.
At the time of the election, Obama's approval rating was 46% while the Republican Party's approval rating was 26%.
Feingold's incumbent status was trumped by single-issue voters like yourself and uninformed voters (Tea-Baggers).
Better go easy on the Leinenkugels Mags... you're slurring your posts. :toast:

Well, America must all be single issue voters then - cuz last I saw, the Dems got SMOKED on Tuesday...:00hour
I know Obama has had his life revolve around saying negative things about insurerers. It is too bad - there are 40+ industries with much higher profit margins than insurance. Why pick on insurance (rather than autos, food, telecom, etc)? Because insurance folks are smart, and are not unionized.
Sponge is right. You're a handjob Mags.
Russ Feingold stood for something. Over ONE MILLION of us Wisconsin voters recognized that. Unfortunately, 1.1 million of Wisconsin's less informed voters fell for the slick sales pitch the wealthy Johnson relentlessly flooded the Wisconsin airwaves with for months on end.To be fair, it remains to be seen what kind of senator Johnson will be. But I wouldn't get too excited Mags because like most of the other Republicans that were elected on Tuesday, Johnson ran a platform based solely on stopping the Obama agenda and offered no new ideas of his own. Throughout most of the campaign, I couldn't tell if Johnson was running against Feingold or Obama.
So let's see what Johnson brings to the table. He might be a good guy but that doesn't mean he'll make the right decisions for the citizens of Wisconsin or the country as a whole. If he's half the senator Russ Feingold was, he'll be head and shoulders above most of his peers in Congress on both sides of the aisle.
I know you insurance folks are smart, but where exactly does that statement come from. . . insurance having lower margins than autos?
Mags-
Johnson flooded us with commercial after commercial about bringing back jobs to wisconsin? Blah blah blah.
1. What does Johnson plan to do about healthcare?
2. How is he going to specifically create jobs?
3. Why was he such a good candidate.. A good businessman but what are his credentials in politics?
4. Do you think he bought the election and how is he going to recoup his funds that he spent to win the election??
Bleeding - clearly, that was a very cynical message.
Jobs/Healthcare are intermixed. The tax increases that result from the HCR bill and the certain price increases over and above what would have occurred under the previous system (due to much richer benefit mandates), along with paying the cost of the 15M that are now going to get "Free" insurance adds much cost uncertainty to businesses. In addition, the mandate that everyone had "Obama-Approved" coverage, which may not be what they currently have (i.e. McDonalds) will add even more cost to businesses. Regulation costs money - a lot of money in Tax dollars to pay government salaries, and a lot of money on the back end to try to figure out what the heck the regulations mean and how to implement it.
Lower taxes, keeping money in folks pockets, and not spending it on needless regulation is the way to go.
I'm not completely sold on Johnson yet either. But he is just so much better than the alternative. Outside of Madison, this is not a liberal state - and Feingold is the most liberal Senator out there. He'd been there long enough, and needed to go.
This election was much like the Obama election in 2008. That Election, for many, wasn't about Obama - it was that the other choice, Bush/Palin, was so revolting to folks that they took the lesser evil - Obama (ok, that didn't turn out so good, but that is what they were thinking).
Here the lesser evil was clearly Ron Johnson. Hopefully he'll turn out to be more consistent with what America is about, and hopefully turn out much better than Obama did.
Time will tell.
People do not take accountability for their actions.. Run up credit, buy overly expensive housing, cars, and luxury items and then blame someone else when you can't pay it back. Too much instant gratification and that is where a lot of the problem..
Depends on the auto, but many models do have more than a 4% PM - espeically SUV's. But you are correct - I thought they were on the list in aggregate - and they are not. Good catch.

Holy Cow over 4 Billion spent on this election. Could that money be used for so many better things. THen on lust for power. When are we the people going to say stop.
Here in california we made out ok. Meg Whitman spent 140 Million dollars she otherwise would have horded the rest of her life.
Instead she spent it on advertising, which trickles down to a lot of jobs here in California.
As annoying as it is, a lot of newspapers, printing companies, radio stations, and local television stations rely on the obscene political spending that occurs every couple years. These are otherwise struggling industries. :0008

He is a beauty isn't he? I bet that nose of his sticks out a lot farther then any other body part. I never saw a guy so self centered and selfish in my life. I'm telling ya Trench i have went to a few of these Republican functions and their wives are bored to death. Just hoping some day that somebody would take them out of the misery they got themselves invvoled in. Not all Republicans but a guy like this is a special case. Still cracks me up how he had his wife read some post of Duffs post to determine if they should meet :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:
.............................................................Now selfishness, that is saying "I want me free healthcare, unemployement and food stamps - and I want someone else to pay for it!".
Manning up is saying "I'll take care of myself, thank you".
Hmmm... who is selfish here, Mr. Cradle to Grave entitlement liberal? Wanna get as much free stuff as you can, while other people work to support you, don't you?
SPONGE is the perfect handle for you - as all you want to do is SPONGE off of society, and other people's hard work. Quite a lifesytle - one to be proud of!
.............................................................
Its amazing how you and DTBlackgumby get stuck on this over and over .
If we did not take care of ppl in need what kind of country would we be ?
Hell we send millions over to Africa and many other countrys to feed and clothe them and give them free medical every year
why cant you guys say that once in awhile.
WE NEED TO STOP SENDING OUR MONEY AID OVER TO AFRICA AND OTHER COUNTRYS TO THE WELCHERS AND MISFITS THAT DESERVE TO DIE. JUST A BUNCH OF N....... WITH GHETTO BLASTERS, ONE AND ALL.
At least you would be somewhat objective.
