the niece's dog was too wimpy to do his business by his usual bush, on this fine winter Maine day.

I shoveled a path to the street, had some mail to send - but the Postal Service closed nearly all the Post offices in Maine and cancelled mail delivery today.....
Only 8 inches overnight (on top of 15 inches from a few days ago) so we won't break all-time record of snowiest January. Will have about 41 inches for the month, 3rd on list. Record is 48.4.
Nephew has been skating at the lake more, gonna try out for hockey team for his sophomore year at HS, besides his usual football..If I spend more winters here, I'm gonna look at snow mobiles and an ice fishing hut!

about 12 inches yesterday/last night. So that is around 40 inches in the 3 storms we've had - in the last 7 days...
It is getting hard to shovel around side door, snow piling up in limited space there.
yes, I was told when very young that if I'm not wearing sandals and shorts every day of the year by the time I'm 50, then I've made some bad career and life decisions!
but the family does want me here to help take care of mom, and she hates the cold, but the family likes it in Maine!

Another 5 inches or so last night/this morning... That's about 45 inches last ten days!
