usualy about 1 a day. i dont usually eat them by themselves. they are a part of a smoothie mixture with strawberries and grapes, usually used for a breakfast or lunch substitute or a snack in the evening.

i'm just counting and using calories wisely in order to stay under the 1500 a day. trying to get the most intake by spending the least amount of calories because 1500 isn't much.

not sure that this will help to lose weight, but I have been eating it for breakfast a couple times a week. I am not really watching calories though, but it is good and healthy

Two PB-and-Banana Wraps With Milk
Prep time: 2 minutes 2 Tbsp peanut butter 2 Eggo Special K waffles 1 medium banana 1/2 pint fat-free chocolate milk Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter over each (briefly microwaved) waffle. Divide the banana between them and roll each to make wraps. Wash down with chocolate milk. Benefits: Eggo's Special K waffles supply complex carbohydrates, which break down slowly in the body and stimulate the production of serotonin, a calming brain chemical. The banana is packed with potassium -- a heart protector.

Per meal: 570 calories, 23 g protein, 90 g carbohydrates, 16 g total fat, 7 g fiber

I used the kashi go lean waffles maybe less calories and fat not sure

pretty simple stuff, calories in should be less that calories burned. just one caution, don't try to lose too much too fast, or your body will think it's not getting enough food to survive and will start hording fat. you'll lose weight but it'll be muscle and in the long run that is bad as muscle mass is what burns calories. Basically you don't want to get your calorie intake too low per day. Also, if you are only going to eat 1500 calories a day, don't do it in one or even two meals, if you eat 5 to 7 small meals (and drink water, mucho important) and your body will accept the reduction alot better an actually speed up your metabolism. Good luck Jack.

HELL
Great stuff Jack, quitting smoking and dieting. Here's my diet and it starts in about an hour or so...

2 Strip Steaks Cayenne-Style on the Grill
1 Freshly cut potato for seasoned French Fries
1 Can of White corn

and I am going to top it off going light tonight as in...

8-10 Miller Lite.

Throw a few hundy around on the B-ball games and life is grand. I will be at the gym tomorrow though around 8 am.

To all, have a great weekend.

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Awesome job Jack!.............

I too have been on a "mission" to lose weight. I'm doing a modified Atkins. Kind of a mix between South Beach(adds veggies) and the Paleo (adds some fruits) Diets. I started 4 weeks ago.
April 10th 238 lbs. :scared :nono:
May 5th 226
Obviously not nearly as good as you Jack, but getting it off is very tough for me. If you would not mind sharing what some of your meals are like, that would be helpful, you have my email if you like.

franky, congrats.

all i'm doing is closely watching the calories.

lots of fruit. i mix strawberries, grapes, bananas, pears, sams club has bags of frozen mixed berries, and make drinks out of them. good for breakfast or lunch or snack. 200 or so calories for about 20 ounces and filling. easy on the bananas because they are 100-150 each so i've cut them out pretty much.

salads with lite dressing.

95% lean ground beef 1/4 patties with no roll. 200 cals each

i buy bags of frozen chicken breats boneless and skinless at sams club. they are only 100 calories each on the grill.

lite everything.....yogurt, juices, etc.

lots of water

it's boring as hell but i try to get as much as i can for the least calories. quit eating for pleasure, only eating for survival for now. told myself it's only going to be a couple of months so i can make it through that.

you can buy snack stuff in 100 calorie bags at walmart. cookies and whatnot.

subway is a treat. i can get a turkey or ham sub, 6" with lettuce, tomato, green pepper, jalapeno and pickles with no mayo or dressing on wheat for less that 300 cals.

lots of soups. a can of soup is anywhere from 175-300 cals and a meal for me.

or, like on some saturdays if i feel like drinking, i'll eat 2 of those chicken breasts on the grill and a 12 pack of lite beer or a pint of vodka :D

water is the key to keeping full feeling. no sweets, no bread, no greasey shit, no potatoes. none of that crap.

just set a goal and time frame and tell yourself that's what you're going to do. not that bad. actually the first time i ever tried seriously dieting and i'm surprised it's working as well as it is.

pounds are coming off much more slowly now that i'm near my average weight. i'm 6'4" and mainly wanted to get rid of the beer gut.

good luck!

here's my calorie counter link if i'm not sure of something.

toast, vodka is 100 calories for 1.5 ounces. most light beer is around 100 calories each.

15 ounces of vodka and diet or water is only 1000 calories. :D
