The bottom line is that we have to give up the empire to save the country. The UK did it after WWII. The US is facing the same problem right now. We can't afford having 700 bases around the world. In this thread we have neo-cons that don't really give a fuck about the average American. They would rather keep our troops overseas than making sure a grandma, who has paid into social security her whole life, has enough to live on during her retirement.
