I've had very good success with the bowls for 3 straight years with a spreadsheet that I made after PLENTY of hours/weeks/months of work. Last year it came out ahead again, but not by much so I stopped posting the plays.

Looks like it might be back in form again, so I'm going to take my chances at ruining my record up to this point by (1) upping the ante on my plays and (2) the REAL danger.... post a few plays.
I DON'T play most of the games; I just focus on the Sheet's bestest (strongest) plays and go from there. So far I'm 5-2 ATS (sorry didn't post a thing from it yet and don't expect anybody to beilieve me). Not that great, but what is great is that the Sheet's "STRONGest" plays just murdered da bums on the other side of the ball. Well, for the most part.

The murderers. -> N. Illi, BYU, San Diego St, Maryland, and last night - Okie St.

The murdered -> Ohio (why did I ever play a team like that?) and W. Virginia (I don't believe in the "throwing the game" bit. You know, they bet on the other team stuff. But, if there is any truth to that "sour grapes" theory.. this game was proof).

Before I come back and tellyas that I'm at 10-2 so far :) - think I'll take my chances of ruining the record by (1) raising my bet amounts from this point on and (2) the REAL danger... post a few Sheet plays here.

Not making a side play for this one; but they play today so I'll post it. The puter sez that ARMY (+7) IS a STRONG play. Yeah, a doggie too. Fact is, despite all the winning FAVORITES above - the records (3 years of Bowls games) I have for the puter picks shows that it's underdog picks have the bestest w/l percentage record. For me, I just can't pull the trigger on this one. But I did look at it from a human (that's me) standpoint and decided that the UNDER (51) just might work. I mostly base that on Army utilizing their training and doing the "crab crawl" thing when they get the ball.. That should eat up the clocks pretty good. Also, Army is most adept at T/Os and the more times they get the ball - the faster that clock rolls. Looks to me like neither team is an offensive giant cept when they face cream puffs. Might be a chance that the weather in Dallas could help the cause also?

Nebraska (-13, -14... puter sez it make no difference) Strong play.

Notre Dame +3 (I'll make mine + 3 1/2) another Strong play.

Like teasers? I don't. But the Mieneke Care Car Bowl (anybody remember when REAL bowl game had names of plants, flowers and fruits?). Thems ruining college footsball just like they did to hoss racin.. greedy bastages. Well, thinking of hosses - remember that Breeders Cup year that had almost EVERY stinkin horse was a clone of all the other horses and we were expected to pick winners in that fiasco? I wrote about that BC in my old forum and I wrote it BEFORE any of the races were run.

According my puter - there's a game between two cloned teams in that Meineke thang. Look at ALL the stats for these two teams. EVERY key factor/stat (IMO, and theres plenty of them) are VERY close to being identical. VERY close and several were absolutely identical; never saw a matchup like this before; each from a different conference and after a full season too. Just unreal. I ain't biting, but IF I played a teaser - So. Fla +13 (7pt. teaser) would be the key play in it.

G. L .

I got the puter figures and calculated lines for all the games if anybody's interested, but it's best to just go with it's "STRONG" plays. There's more, but let's give these a shot for now and see if the ball keeps bouncing the right way.

Thanks for stopping in, gm.

Thanks for stopping in, gm.

Enjoy the popcorn and thanks for the bump up. Man, this place is a madhouse - despite your reply, I still wore out a shoval digging this thing up today.

I wanted to just leave things with the plays I originally posted just to see if the SHEET continues it's winning ways. So far - so good.

Guess I should post another play while I'm here...

OK, FLORIDA in the Outback Bowl comes up as another STRONG play. Thems @ -7 vs. Penn St. I like to take 7s down to 6s, but I'll leave that up to you folks.

Hate to see the college footbawlers season end, but GOOD LUCK the rest of the way everybody.

Nuthin much here...

Nuthin much here...

just ... thanks for the comments and interests.

NICE Avatar, Oceanguy.

While I'm here, I'll comment about game and also post another strong play to make your trip worthwhile.

Sorry bout that Nebraska blowout. Funny thing(not for me though) is that the biggest single loss I suffered this season was on them freakin CORNDOGS. I've always liked that team a lot and hit them a little harder if the puter picksem as a solid play. That happened once this season and, yeah, it was vs. Texas. I don't know what the hell happened in that game cause I couldn't get to watch it, but I got a feeling Neb. took the day off. SHEET!

Of course they got back to their old winning ways after that and resumed their massacre of their oponents. Without me on them of course. Yesterday, it it picked them as a strong play.. sure enough.. the bastages could only make one score ALL GAME. At least I watched this game and came away thinking that just maybe they didn't lay down on me again. I don't know where it came from (Braska gained 368 yds. vs. Wash when they played earlier this year, Huskers gained a pitdly 150 yds last night) but Washington's defense made the cornhuskers look like little piglets out there. Game was boring as hell too. :(

The point I'm trying to get accross is be careful with the heavy duty plunges MadJackers. You know them "Plays of the year/month" stuff. For me, thems DON'T work. If the picks are good.. steady she goes will work out fine in the long run.

I'm looking for another super puter pick for today... was hoping the dang thang picked So. Carolina.. it didn't (it's a No Play). Looks like it's Notre Dame (M.L. for me this time) for today, Fla. (-6 for me) on Sat. and ....

SHEET, I just checked it and ... it picks TCU - 3 as solid play for Sat. (EGAD, I hope gmroz brought along some extra popcorn and PapaBart brought his reading glasses.. cause I gotta write more stuff on account of this dang puter pick.. UGH!) :D

The puter rates teams using ADJUSTED (complicated stuff) statistical factors. OF COURSE it likes TCU, but it doesn't understand the KIND of teams they play vs. the kind of teams Wisc. played. The rating means nothing. I woulda luved to see it pick Wisconsin. Maybe it's a good thing it didn't cause I'm thinking that this game is totally unpredictable based on the stats and records for each team. One played totally different types of teams than the other. One is a finesse team with plenty of speed and "razzle dazzle" the other is comprised of bulk, bulls, and an offense that plowed through some very tough defensive lines almost ALL season long. They never faced each other. One is undefeated yeah, but they never faced a team LIKE (not saying as good as though) the other. True, it's hard to ignore what TCU did to Utah and BYU. But, I watched Whiskey play more than once and I don't like the idea of picking against them.

There's more, but I won't bore the "borables" ... I gotta make a small play on this game cause it is a very interesting one. Thinking that the first half is gonna tell the WHOLE STORY. Ya got two magnets facing each other with the same polarity; lets see which one gets pushed back the most. Just maybe one of these teams just cannot handle the other one's style of play and you can't cure that during a brief halftime. I believe that will continue into the second half.. Soooo, the play is gonna be on the 2nd half.

Second half, TCU/Wisc.. the team that showed more in the first half. (Sometimes simple things work too.)

Whatever happens. let's just..

Good Luck, everybody. Whew, gotta soak my fingertips, getting typing blisters.. LOL

May have to start a new thread?

May have to start a new thread?

This thing is getting buried pretty deep and is getting too dang long. Wonder why :)

Ok, real quick like... next three plays, all rated as STRONG PLAYS:

Fla -7: I always take 7s down to sixes.

Stanford -3 or 3 1/2: Hope you can find a "3".

Ohio State -3 1/2: Money Makin Machine got this one rated as it's STRONGEST play so far. I luv it myself, but this line looks a little fishy and I gotta check injuries. If I don't see anything really bad, I'm gonna hit this one ALRIGHT. Well experienced Tressel, his staff, and the TEAM should be able to handle the high powered Ark scoring machine that is a bit mistake prone. Well balanced offense and excellent T/O record that will sieze the opportunities that will come their way should ensure a winnah for this one methinks.

THESE ARE NOT STRONG PLAYS. I just like them enough for a unit or less. IF anybody's keeping score (I don't, I just watch the bankroll and it's telling me the score is looking good) these ain't part of the computer STRONG plays record...

Connecticut +17: rated as WEAK play by the SHEET, which is supposed to mean playable. With so many games - sticking with the best (strong) plays works bestest. I think it's a "too many points" play myself and I'll be on this one.

Miss St. (whatever the line is): Just missed being rated a strong pick. I'm kinda neutral about this one, not too familiar with Miss St. and I am familiar enough with Michigan to know that thems are eratic and not the bettor's friend whether on them or against them.

Good luck, and do stop in cause my shovel to dig this thing up is getting worn out pretty badly.

Not too good news

Not too good news

You know, I just checked the entire spreadsheet and it looks like I shouldof at least DOUBLED the bankaroo. Don't know why it ain't doubled though?? I ain't gonna even count the wins/losses for the STRONG plays on the SS cause it makes me sick that I ain't rich on account of it. :(

I gotta learn about money management and cool it with the parlayramas ESP. with losing college basketball picks that ruined TWO "strong" CFB winnahs. Dang.

Ok, nuff of that.. here's the bad news... I completed feeding the money maker SS and guess what?.... .. . there ain't no mo STRONG plays after Ohio St. All I/you got left is O.S. and Stanford. Guess it's progression time (Ut Oh).

There ain't 2 losses in a row (STRONG plays) on the entire Bowl games sheet. So, here's the deal from here....

Stanford -3 for 3 stinkin units

If thems lose, then...

Ohio State -3 (that's what they're at right now, don't know about tomorrow) for 6 not so stinkin units.

I'll think about playing/posting the SS's "MEDIUM" plays that are left. The REAL money makers are the strong ones though.
