Will SOMEONE PLEASE teach this guy there is NO SUCH WORD AS NUCULAR. We do not have NUCULAR weapons, they are NUCLEAR weapons. NU-CU-LAR is not even a word. How hard is that? God it pains the crap out of me to hear words coming out of this guys mouth.

Tom Brady sitting two rows behind the First Lady, good to see him hard at work.

You know I'm not a liberal very far from it, I'm a registered Republican I voted for Bush having voted twice for Clinton. But no I dont mind arguing, is having the correct pronunciation to words too much to ask especially in a nationally televised speach, his biggest of the year? I dont mind bringing that up every single time, no. Why should it be considered being beat to death if he continues to do it?

Just look at those troops, they looked real enthusiastic to be used as props tonight, huh?

Ted Kennedy made me laugh that, that was funny chit. He was so right thought, the way Bush brought up a lot of the issues was really grating. I mean I know hes not the one who writes the speech, but he really drove a wedge in on some things like the Patriot Act. Just really worded oddly.

Pelosi is just not a great speaker, I mean she had to have practiced this right? Is that superwide fake smile hurting anyone else?

I didnt. I mean look its not a big deal its more of a pet peeve. The guy doesnt have to be a great public speaker to be President.

The one thing I couldnt get over was the troops he brought in. Couldnt help but think how pissed they looked, at whatever, being used as props, or being there for whatever reason. Though the troops would really be cheering for him during the national security bits, but wow, they really werent. That one girl looked positively angry.

I thought it was pretty funny when ( I don't remember the exact words) President Bush mentioned the Patriot Act was going to expire and some of the Dems started clapping then right away he said the terrorist threat doesn't expire and the whole place erupted.

I believe in supporting our President whether Republican or Democratic he is the leader of our nation. It is OK to disagree and in a mature manner debate issues but to disrespect him is just not right. I felt the same way about Clinton

Wow Jack What you doing in political thread:)
While I did not see speech I have read highlights and I am genuinely curious to the specifics of what you thought was bull shit--- Which specific issues were you in disagreement on and why?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I did get to see Daschle's speech and wasn't sure it was same fellow--no ranting--think he got the message on Dean. Normally I cut him off when viens start poping out in his neck but he was so cordial this time I listened to his entire rebutal.

Issues I think are full of shit from both sides are education and "affordable" healthcare. Each side makes these big points each election and neither can do squat about it. You can't make those unwilling to learn get an education. You can't make healthcare inexpensive. Both issues sound nice but there is no solution.Clinton didn't get it done in 8 years, neither will Bush or the next guy.

Well Jack I have seen more then I guess anyone here other then your Dad. By the way I hope he's doing well. This was about my 43/44 state of the union that I payed attention to. I will try to be fair and say it was around 20th. One thing that puzzled me. Last year we heard about Bin Laden 9 times. Zero last night. We heard last year about free election for Iraq 5 times. Zero last night. We heard over and over about WMD last year. Last night we heard they found paper work about WMD.
DTB Im with you there spending our money like nuts. And the Republican have control so it's there baby. We Cant put this one on the Dems. In fact yesterday I was surpprised to see Nixon of all people out spent Bush and Johnson both. In todays dollars.
Nixon I cant believe that and I voted for him. Well what your learn some times 30 years later.
One thing im sure got the white houses attetion was the record turn out in 10 degree weather in Iowa Monday night. You see record number like that in N H. The attack dogs are comng out early.

Just got done watching the state of the union address. George Bush will go down in history as one of the greatest republican presidents ever... He may not be the brightest, but he tells it like it is, or should be. I loved it when he advised justices on state supreme courts to start honoring the sanctity of marriage between a man and a women. He basically said, keep that abnormal, perverse, faggot marriage bullshit out of Washington while I'm running the show.

My second favorite line was when he advised the world that "The United States will NEVER ask for a permission slip to defend ourselves"! I was standing in front of the TV jumping up & down ****ing cheering...

Democrats are just out-right delusional... They make me sick!.. Just sit there and politely clap you bunch of liberal, tree hugging, whale saving, pinko, commy pussies...

You must teach me how to become more tolerant? I'm tired of feeling hatred towards these colossal ingrates! (Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, ect..) I guess Free Speech is one of the rights that our troops have fought and died for? It just makes me sick how people who have absolutely no perception of reality can lead opposition and comment on matters they know nothing about. The people who oppose this war, this President, and our troops are ****ing ingrates. They should keep their mouths shut, support the troops, and respect the decision that no Democratic Pres. would have ever had the balls to make!

We all should thank GOD everyday that we have a President who's not afraid to make the tuff call. He's not concerned with world opinion, political repercussions, or economic trends. He is protecting the American way of life.

Guess what! Like it or not we are the biggest most powerful people on this earth. We are Americans, we are obligated to those who have fought and died defending these beliefs. We have the right to defend ourselves and our interests! I'm afraid this is just the beginning.......

Always and Forever a Proud Republican Patriot?

Wilson Im proud your a Patriot. But even you found what 3 good things about what he said last night. Wilson he talked for over a hour. And the one issue about gay marrages. Thats a real biggie? It affects maybe 3 to 4 million folks. I rather we stick with our real biggies. As for permission to go to war. We do how ever asked our congress. Bush acts like he can wake up any old day and say lets plan another new one.
Wilson be thankful many talked out about Nam. We may have stayed even longer for no good reason. Yes many have died for the right of freedom of speech. Yours, mind, everyones. His speech still was no better then 20 out of last 43. Where was the real meat. What happen to that impotant guy Bin Laden. Not a word about him. And you must be lost in time. When I served my country it was with all walks of life. Every color and even your hated liberials, were there to. In fact maybe more then anyother party.

DJV,

If we still had William Jefferson Clinton as our fearless leader...we all would be hiding in our houses when the street lights came on at night.

You know it and I know it...Bush has the balls to fight evil...not run from it. Bin Laden? I believe he is scurrying like a cockroach now...not devising a plan to kill thousands of innocent people. If your boy Jefferson would have dealt with this problem in the same manner that Bush has...maybe we wouldn't have had to deal with Cole and 9/11.

You'll never admit it...but, deep down..you feel a little safer with Bush in charge...that is why you will vote for him. :D

I always find it funny when some right winger goes of on a rant about how democrats can never wage war. FDR? Waged WW2, Truman, dropped two nukes, LBJ Vietnam (well he tried). This commie pussy wasn't cowering in fear when Saddam was in charge. Personally those who were are the pussies in my humble opinion. As for free elections in Iraq, that will never happen because Iraq would become a Shiite Islamic government and we will never let that happen. As for healthcare, I personally think that allowing people and/or businesses to write off on their taxes a majority of their health insurance payments would be a fair answer to the problem until we find a true solution to the rising costs. To counter the loss in tax revenue just raise the taxes on cigerattes. Well conservatives are for fairer and less taxes, lets see it applied to benefit others then just the rich.
