markets a mess.....

agree with jack about the stem cells.........none of them are going anywhere for a year, even if he does sign the EO. still think its a great long term stock....long being the importnat word......the technology is there, but none of these companies are going to go anywhere until they turn a profit and that is at least a year away.

srz is interesting. I'd feel better if Jack moved into one to give us a firsthand look. gonna buy a couple k shares and hope for the best.. close to 52week low and 29 x below 52 week high. earnings come out on march 2nd too.....

NEW YORK ? The major market indexes have staggered to their lowest levels in a decade, pulled lower by investors rapidly waning confidence.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell to April 1997 levels Monday, while the Dow Jones industrial average, down about 215 points, reached its levels of October 1997 as investors succumbed to their growing worries about a recession that has no end in sight. :sadwave:

Anybody have any thoughts on RIMM (blackberry)? I believe it's below $40 now. I think it could be great long term.

well, i'm stuck a good bit with CAT and a little with CMI and those will be back and i have the time to wait. my other sizable position is with SRZ and i'm counting on that one to make me a bundle.

i'll be sticking around.

i'm waiting a bit before i get it all in with other good opportunities.

ACTC... i'll just wait too. i think that's prob a year away from making a nice move. thinking of double my position at .10 :SIB

What makes you confident in this one jack? Was interested and might buy a couple k worth, but was curius what a few of you guys that have been on it for a while thought. Having looked into it I cant understand why it has been beat down all the way to this point. Whats your outlook on the earnings report:shrug:

it's a gamble on whether they get their refinancing and the way the market, financial and banking situation is right now it might be a bad gamble. i'm in and hoping though.

i trust that this guy can answer your questions and give you a good handle about what's going on with SRZ. he can explain it a lot better than i can just from reading his blog entries.

either read from top to bottom or bottom up.

and from what i've read, this company (SRZ) is worth A LOT more than it's market cap. some estimate that $5 and as much as $10 per share if they went BK.

it's one of if not the best quality care senior care homes in existance.

the new CEO has been brought in to turn this thing around after bad decisions from the old CEO (expanding too quickly and wasting money).

the new CEO had the biggest shareholders sign an agreement that they would NOT try to take over SRZ.

95% of SRZ is owned by institutions.

if they get the REFI by their deadline, i think we see $5 very quickly, from what i have read.

my average is now $.89 with 25,000 shares so no small gamble for me by any means.

i originally bought at $1.11 and sold all at $1.28 but bought back in at $1.09 and have averaged down since. my next buy is set at .60.

good luck!

the smart thing to do but i don't have that choice at this point. the "key" though is the REFI by the end of march but good earnings will be very helpful in getting over that hurdle.
