why are they dicks?...you can`t wear an american flag on a tee shirt...in america....on a mexican holiday?....

are you serious?...

what`s next?...bastille day?...

Most likely they were just being dicks. They still should have been allowed to wear them though. I have no problem with just being a dick.

They are dicks because they did it for no reason other than to antagonize.

it`s the american flag...this isn`t tijuana...i believe it was the bay area...

if someone is assimilating, why would an american flag offend?.....

i`m not going to walk on eggshells in my own country for fear of offending someone for being proud of my own country...

it`s offensive wearing an american flag on cinco de mayo?...a foreign country`s victory over the french in the 1800`s?...

put down the bong....it`s still america...i think....

You're missing the point. They probably NEVER have worn one, they did it to be dicks.

Whatever happened to making kids wear the shirts inside out? Ya know, like if you wore a Jack Daniels shirt to school in junior high they made you wear it inside out so as not to "offend." Anyone? Anyone?

I think the point was that they weren't celebrating the American flag, they were just being shit-stirrers. Maybe I'm wrong and these kids are doing Civil War reenactments on the weekends, but I doubt it.

And don't get me wrong, I don't care that they wore the shirts and I don't think they should get in trouble for it. I was a teenager once upon a time and it sounds like something I would have done. I'm just saying I doubt the motive was that they were defending the honor of our forefathers.

isn`t this precisely why we reserved our right right to rebel by means of speech?.....under the 1st amendment?....seems neither teachers or students know much about civics anymore...

hell,i see che` t-shirts all over the place..

anyway,i don`t see why we give a hoot in a rainbarrel about a mexican holiday that isn?t even celebrated in mexico.... would wearing an american flag shirt be an atrocity on st. patricks day?...

this is so f-cking wacked...:mj07:

The kids were stirring the pot.... no doubt in my mind.

However, reverse the roles an see what would have happened if mexican kids were sent home from summer school on the 4th of July for wearing mexican t-shirts.

Al Sharpton, the ACLU and every racist attention whore in the country would be all over this.

Completely agree. I would never try to argue that there isn't a double-standard on this issue (or many others, for that matter). But you know, Al & Jesse have to get their face time. ;)
