What time does it start?

I have actually just come home from 4 days in Vegas only to do laundry, turn around and repeat the cycle Thursday night. Realized I have missed a lot of posts in the last week or so. Is there any sort of schedule or such that is out or will be coming out that indicates things like time, where exactly to go at Sunset etc.?

Doors will open at 1 will be signs it's upsatirs in a ball room. Food will start at 2:30 as well as open bar. From 1-2:30 its a cash bar.

Also lets get this out of the way so it is not like last year . When you have a privite party like we are having you tip the major people that did the bulk of the work at the hotel anyone in or has gone to convetions knows that we have 4 people that get tipped out cash goes in a card with there name and it is given to then so at the door we need 10$ perperson put in a jar that will be at the front.please make it a ten or if couple a 20 no ones.

people who tips go to

casino host the person who will take care of you the whole time you are there his name is Bob you will each have a players card and it good for sports bets also it's how you get comped and you will have one of his business cards.

catering manager the person who set up the whole party

director of group sales the person who set up the ball room and got the rates for hotel room and rate for av equipment.

banquet manager he will be the guy cleaning your table anytime it is dirty and make sure the food and bar stays stocked please do your part at the door.

bartender gets tipped as you feel you should its up to you rule of thumb 1 buck a drink for first 4 drinks then if you feel like anymore after that its up to you, infact its all up to you but it will come from others pocket if we don't collect 500 for the cards.

these people work very hard to put this on and it's a lot of work to get a privite party during sb so please help out with the tip.

the 100$ perperson is less then 2/3 of what the over all party cost so not fair if the tips for those four has to be picked up by someone who is paying 1/3 out of their pocket to have this party.

thanks for the help fri party is at eight its a little get together finger food and 2-3 drinks i will have tickets given me. it goes 8-10

then for the hoops party it starts sat at around 9 till when ever and i will have drink tickets use your players card for everything you do,table games, slots and sports book and that is how you get comps. don't excpet a 3 day comp with 100$ play over 3days they are not that nice but if you log time on talbes and machines and sports book you should be fine no card use no comps.

see you in a few.

thanks
Eric

First of all I just got back from 4 nonstop days in Vegas of zero sleep and a long flight back to the East Coast, so please excuse me if this comes off as short, I certainly mean no disrespect to Jack or Eric. OK guys?

Wouldnt it have been easier to build the "voluntary" tipping into the cost of the party? I have been to dozens of conventions and private functions like this in the past 8 years pre-unemployment and never been asked to tip management level personel, especially after paying for the party up front.

I absolutely will tip $5 per round for the 4 people I am bringing. This is exactly what I would do in a casino environment and I have no problem tipping people whose income is half dependent on that, especially having done that type of work myself and regardless of whether or not this party is "open bar". Nothing kills me more than people scoffing down free drinks at a casino and not throwing the waitresses a buck. However people with "director" or "manager" in their name, this is what they get paid to do by the casino, is it not? I am not going to argue they didnt bust their ass to make the party happen and I am not going to say we shouldnt be thankful they did what they did. They did work hard and we should be thankful. But hey, thats why the casino pays them and thats why the charge $X for the room rental. As for the casino host or other people who worked on room rates etc, if you are staying and playing there, I guess that is up to you. Not knowing the history of the party I guess if its a case of we dont tip, they dont rent us the room next year, then thats different.

Anyway Eric without you and the work you do this party wouldnt even happen. I just feel bad because I talked 3 other guys who dont even know or use MJ's into coming to a more expensive SuperBowl party with me, especially when you factor in transportation from the Strip. Bottom line I just dont know why up front you couldnt build this in and charge $110 rather than already charging $100 and less than a week before the party telling people you will need $10 more per person.

I hope you dont hate me for asking. Like I said, I am coming off a no sleep weekend. See you guys in a few days, looking forward to meeting everyone.

it's called convention etiquette and since jeri has been a dir. of 4 major mega resorts i think i know how it works. it is up to you i said you don't have to but it is never built into cost for someone that says they know the covention business you are way off base , i bet you have no clue to how many blue prints and stuff g into a party fire marshall plans has to co it, lots of work and any one that knows conventions knows these are the people who get taken care of. if this party was ran at jeri's which they would not waste the time to do it because to much other stuff we would be looking at over 20,000 with ease you have av stuff and cable lines ran tons of stuff. At big conventions the have what are called meeting planners who are paid good money to set it all up through the dir. of conventions and sales casino host a bq manger ,they are given a amount to work with they get the comm. and they leave the tip but we don't have a meeting planner getting paid to set it up it's me so thats why it is set up like this you don't have to give a penny what we are short i will make up like last year but you are all wrong about the tipping of the 4 people i said. don't worry i will pick up what we lack did it last year and i will do it this year ,its not for jack to do he is already taking about 1/3 out of pocket like i said. your getting a free get together on fri set up by casino host whobends backwords all the free drinks you want sat due to him and i yes these people deserve the little i give them 500 divided by 4 is not a lot . jeri and you other people doing big convetions get tips of 1,000 up to 5,000 depending on size of convetion and how it was ran. and thats all taken care of by a professional meeting planer that do these in all you 6 major convention cities.

**** it don't worry about it i will cover it myself. drop the whole ****ing thing you run it next year. and she where you can get and at what price.

No problem. Whatever you need you got. I'm glad you mentioned this now, rather than walking around with a jug during the party.
We should have no problem coming up with the 500 between us.
Just an Idea, and maybe a stupid one but if for some reason we do come up short why not run a 50/50. I know this would have to be done quietly because of casino regs.. Like I said just an idea. If you need any help at all, all weekend just ask. I'm sure acehistr8t meant no offense. He seems like a standup guy. Probably just having a hard time organizing stuff dor his guests.
As far as the bartenders, anyone who needs to be told how to tip them are not the kind of people I'm used to hanging with.
Thanks in advance.

I'm sure it wont be a problem coming up with the money but Jesus Christ Eric, sorry for asking a f***ing question. These friends are my guests, I dont want them to feel bad if they dont want to pay $110 for a party where they wont know a soul. It should have been mentioned more than 3 days in advance or else silently built into the ticket cost, just my opinion thats all. And no, some of us wont be taking advantage of Friday or Saturday, and some of us wont stay or play at Sunset, so dont try to instill some guilt trip in us that paying $100 for the party somehow isnt enough.

I think I mentioned about 3 times how much I know and appreciate all the work you do, instead your response to my asking a simple question is "F**k you, you run the party then." Thanks a lot. I guess I should just learn to go where people tell me to go when they tell me and do what they tell me to do without asking any questions.

Sorry for asking. Again.

Fletcher,

Thanks for informing us about the tipping at the door. I don't think there will be a problem with coming up with enough money to make everyone happy. I have found that gamblers in general are pretty generous in tipping.

BTW, does anyone have an itinerary for our group's activities ? I was wondering what time the highly anticipated shuffle board games start.

no body said any one had to pay that's your choice .as for bringing youfriends to a party that cost more trust me you were not going to a privite closed party with the food and drinks that we have. There are very few privite parties. you can go to one of the 50$ ones and have hot dogs and wait 30 mins in line to get a drink ,or you would have to go to a casino ivited guest for higer players and ours is better then most of them.

thought it was better to let people know since lot of people did not quite understand vegas last year trying to get comped with a few hundred played not lost played in 3 days and shit like that. had a dinner at a upscale but relaxed place one table spent over 200 $ but left a 8 $ tip so i wanted to let people know how it works and the table guy the bq manger and those people live off their tips. same way with casino host everyone wants shit for free but does not want to give back. just on saturday for hoops i bet i give out over 1500$ worth of free drink tickets would not get that at any casino unless you play from 9 am to 12 am i am there making sure people are taking care of with drinks and bob makes sure they are treated good. it is up to every one but did not want it to be like last year were had to have people ask table to table. and it was my fault for thinking people new how it worked so i posted it this year there will be a big jar at the sign in table and if people choose to give fine if not that is there choice, thought that was better then going table to table and putting people on the spot. but 100 is nothing for what we get in return that week. not your fault i am under the stress of the party i get at least 5-7 calls aday from them have a meeting everyday this week just little things that ware you down and something will be wrong it alawya is and i will have to get it fixed which i will but all of the stuff the week of the party runs me dead so i was harsh at you because i am tired no excuse but i thought it was better to post it then catch people of guard or put them on the spot. a have directors that come in jack spends good money on i have to be there like 5 am on sunday to make sure room is right have to just do little things but they take lots of time. i am dealing with 3 different well 4 departments, casino, hotel,f&b and av and the out side decourator. so enough with this thread, it's dead reallt know more need to be said and lets all have fun it will run smooth. i hope:eek:

The banquet workers (I believe we have 2) are absolutely the best in what they do.

We do them they do us.
As like whipping out the "sweet stuff" candy * brownies & what-not that is not included in the party.
They are good people.

Anyways don't let Jacks party get confused with the one at the Club Madrid.

Jacks has china & glass.
Club has foam & plastic.

Jacks has a gold elevator to take you upstairs & has a very private atmosphere.
Club is on the casino floor with everyone looking in.

Jacks has the newest, cleanest & most private restrooms.
Club has public :scared .......well you get the picture.

Jacks is the bomb.
Clubs sucks.

Fletch if ya need a hand at anything give me a hollar
I'm off Friday (night), then have the 3-day weekend.
