Hey guys, I'm trying to run a squares pool with all my friends, but I've got people spread out across the country so I need something everybody can view without all being in the same place for the game. Has anybody had a good experience with a free online squares pool service that they can recommend? I like the one that Jack is using to run the pools for this site, but I looked into it and I don't want to pay $14 and I'd like to find something that is a little bit more customizable at least from a payout percentage standpoint.

Anybody have any helpful suggestions?

Any help would be much appreciated :0008

...And TheBoys, please don't post the first result that pops up on a google search for "free squares pool"...Or a wikipedia or rotten tomatoes link for that matter. I'm looking for suggestions of pools that people have actually used. TIA

It's totally customizable (?), I just found out how today.

Just charge 14 cents extra for your squares.

This is America.

Charge 25 cents extra for each square! Who needs to know you're making some coin!

They'll find out what it costs to make a pool just like I did when go to the home page:shrug:

Fax? Seriously?? I didn't know anyone still used those old clunkers anymore.

I'm more of a scan-to-email guy myself.

Thanks for the idea though Hedgie :toast:

I use poolhost.com and haven't had any complaints with friends and family coast to coast

Thanks BGC :toast:

One thing:
Do you know if participants can pick their own boxes once they create and account and join the pool? Of course, numbers aren't revealed until the pool is filled up, but people like to pick their blank boxes beforehand. Do you know if that's possible on this site?

Yes, once you set everything up anyone who you invite will be able to choose any of the blank squares. You also have the ability to change your deadline, so for example if you set the deadline for the Saturday before the Superbowl and the squares get filled before that, you can bump the deadline up and the site will generate the numbers to the new deadline. I have used this site for Nascar and Monday night football games all season long and Superbowl Squares the last 3 years now. I have had no issues at all.
