I am very anxious to see how baltimore attacks this unique niners offensive unit

Just watched their games vs pats and vs broncos

@denver, we saw them run a ton of cover 2 and give up the underneath stuff, which peyton absolutley took advantage of, but still wasn't able to hit his big shots and get big chunks of yardage which means advantage ravens...

@newengland we saw them put pollard up close a lot and load the box and get physical with the pats receivers....we all saw brady struggle compared to his usual stats...

I think both were great gameplans and is a huge credit to ravens personnal that they are able to do so many things on defense, and do them well.

My question: what do you do in superbowl vs this dynamic group.

I think you put your most athletic guy on a qb spy, similar to what ATL did with kroy beirmann.....beirmann did very well and kapernick was not nearly as effective with his feet.....

I don't think balty neccesarily has someone with beirmanns skill set and athleticism, but I think they need to have someone spy kapernick every play....

I would also play some cover 2, as it is clear kapernick loves the deep ball and is very good at it...you have to imagine they are going to try and get vernon davis down the seam a lot during this contest, and no linebacker in the league is good enough to stop vernon, you just have to hope and contain him....

I would spy kap, and take away the deep stuff....make the niners beat you with the short stuff and the true runninggame, which will eliminate the big plays that kapernick has shown with his arm and his feet.....

Hold kapernick to 50 yards rushing and only allow a couple "big" plays, and the ravens would be in a great position....

Obviously, I am speculating on what defensive schemes they will run, but curious to see what other people excpect to see as far as gameplans....

Gl everyone

As far as offense, I think the ravens will continue to do what they do...

Look for the deep ball when available, and when it is not use their check downs to rice and pitta and continue to allow boldin to dominate the middle and intermediate routes, where he has made his living at....totally underrated receiver....

Allow rice and peirce to use good change of pace styles, and keep the niners guessing run/pass, and also what style of run...run a couple draws and counters, because sanfran defensive lineman get upfield so fast, that a few misdirections could lead to huge plays.....also screens which are always a big play for ray rice....

If all else fails, call "hey diddle diddle, ray rice up the middle" every single play....gaining 39 yards a play will easily amount in a 80 point offensive output and a nice easy win :toast:

Cannot wait...I am more excited for this game then most of recent years....

Think we have two of the most talented teams on defense, both of which have explosive big play offenses....

Not often do 2 complete teams make it like this...usually we have a packers or saints or colts team that relies on their offense to dictate the tempo and keep long sustained drives, or steelers and chicago bears teams they rely on running game and DEFENSE....

Not often, is there 2 teams, that can play and win any style of football, on both sides of the ball....

Throw in the 2 brothers coaching, both of whom I consider great coaches, and I think we have a recipe for an amazing game, that should be one to remember....

Perhaps the first superbowl with 2 brothers as headcoaches, also results in our first superbowl with a overtime period....

Gl everyone I cannot wait for this game...

Outside Running

The Ravens don?t look to run outside terribly often ? 75 outside runs compared to 117 inside runs since Week 15 ? but against a 49ers? run defense that has shown a weakness against outside runs in recent weeks that tactic may change. Since Week 15, keyed by 78 yards given up outside the tackles in Seattle, the 49ers have yielded 5.5 yards per carry to the outside, and are missing a tackle once every five carries to the outside. The Ravens? ballcarriers have matched this output, collecting 17 forced missed tackles on those 75 outside runs in their past six games. Baltimore would be well served to kick the tires with Bernard Pierce on this apparent weakness early on to try to open up the interior of the 49ers? run defense.

Going inside is running into the proverbial hornet?s nest, and exposing yourself to the likes of Patrick Willis, Justin Smith and NaVorro Bowman. If the Ravens can pick up consistent gains, and maybe even break off a long run, this will force the 49ers to turn their attention outside and give Ray Rice more room to work inside. With an offense that is so predictable this will be hard work for the Ravens, but they have proven to be up to the task in recent weeks, and have sprung key runs when they were needed.
