The fact that a penalty was called on UGA defensive end Ray Drew for targeting the qb was embarrassing enough, but when it was confirmed in the booth and he was ejected it became the epitome of everything wrong with the rule and replay in general. Just fuking awful:facepalm:

Have not seen it yet CB, but as the video above shows the rule is complete bullshit if this is the way it is going to be enforced.

Cleaning up the game has been well overdue. When these thugs are stupid enough to lead with their helmets or tackle high, they deserve to be ejected.

They should. I wasn't kidding when I posted before, that's illegal. Period.

I know you have a lot on your mind with the new forum and all, but "Targeting" is what has been called twice against UGA and in neither instance was the defenders head targeted and barely even touched in the first hit.

You might want to run a poll on that gif you post above. That one will get called every time.

No problem with a 15 yard penalty, but to confirm that he deserves to be thrown out:confused:

I will get you second penalty as soon as I can find it. Even worse than the first one.

I didn't see the first targeting foul live but that second foul was an awful call. The guy made a perfect play on a huge 4th down and they throw in a flag extremely late...then once again they look at it and realize it was legal and the kid stats in the game.

I never played Wide Reciever past high school but if I had the choice I would much rather someone hit me shoulder to shoulder then go low and tear up my knees. Bottom line is if you wanna throw the flag that's fine, but if they look at it and don't eject the player it shouldn't be a penalty.

Your going to start seeing a lot more ugly knee/leg injuries bc of this. Just ask Randall Cobb

How many Offensive players this year have you seen that were seriously injured due to helmet to helmet hits...probably not many. In most cases the serious injuries you see are actually defenders. These players are getting the point and are hitting shoulder to shoulder and still getting flagged.

All I'm saying is the kids seem to be trying to due the right thing and are being penalized. You can't send a receiver 5 yds and across the middle and not expect him to get hit.

You could legitimately say the 2nd flag in the Georgia game had a lot to do with them losing. When you start seeing games lost due to bad calls their obviously needs to be something changed.
