I just opened my mail, and found a letter telling me to report for JURY DUTY! :scared FOCK :cursin:
Tell the Judge that I think they should hang all the defendants in court
, that should get me kicked off this trial!

Franky, it seems that the court is going to have an extremely difficult time placing twelve jurors who have no previous bias toward BeanTownJim. Due to this circumstance, I can not excuse any prospective jurors at this time.Franky Wright said:By the Way!

The court and the attorneys for the defendant will be given the opportunity to question the jurors to determine their fitness to serve in The Trial of BeanTownJim. Such questions are intended to identify whether an individual may have certain bias or personal knowledge that could influence his or her ability to judge a case objectively. While some questions may be personal in nature, they are not intended to embarrass you even if that becomes the result. They are asked to determine if there is a reason you should not sit on a particular case.
In order to screen out those jurors who they believe would be inappropriate for a particular case, the attorneys will have the right to "challenge", or eliminate a prospective juror from serving on this panel, if they offer a justifiable reason why the juror should be eliminated. The process is referred to as a challenge "for cause". There is no limit to the number of times that this challenge may be exercised.
The lawyers also have a fixed number of challenges for which a reason does not have to be given; these challenges are known as a "peremptory". A peremptory challenge is a privilege of trial counsel which may be exercised arbitrarily and without explanation. However, the number of peremptory challenges that may be used is limited by law and varies according to the nature of the case. This challenge may never be exercised in a discriminatory manner.

Is there a procedure for the Assistant DA (me) to resign from the office and volunteer for the defense council of one beantownjim ?
It looks like only a fool would take this case, and I guess I may be one. But it just doesn't seem fair for beantownjim not to have proper council. My lawyering skills should be quite adequate to do one of them voir dire thingees.
I would serve capably in beantownjims defense. I pledge to do everything possibe to keep him from the hangmans noose.
I respectfully request to be named Chief Defense Council. I will build a team of misfits for his defense. And I promise to serve admirably.
I await further instructions.
