MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- The University of Wisconsin Police Department got an unexpected delivery on Monday.
A University of Wisconsin football fan who got ejected from the game Saturday sent the UWPD 20 dozen coconut doughnuts because he was upset about the incident.
On the UWPD's Facebook page, the department posted, "On Monday, November 23, UWPD received a rather strange, anonymous delivery of 20 dozen coconut donuts. We were confused. Nobody likes coconut donuts. We tracked down the man behind the delivery. It was a teachable moment that we're all laughing about now!" The department linked to a page that showed the e-mail exchange between the man and the police department.
According to the post on the page, the fan was assigned a different section than his friends and when he tried to stick with the group, he was ejected from the stadium. The post says the fan sent the doughnuts as a sign of disapproval, because nobody likes coconut doughnuts.
The UWPD sent the doughnuts to the Salvation Army Women's Shelter.
