Not the way I wanted the Imus story to go away. This is very surreal for me, living there as a kid and having family connections still in the area. I'm sure my cousins know someone who knows someone who....God, this is just terrible.

What I'd like to know and I'm sure many of the family members of the victims do as well is why was the campus not shut down at 7:30 after the 1st shooting. A shooting occurred and the gunman was not detained yet classes were allowed to go on as usual. We are talking about 1 death versus 32 because someone somewhere made the decision not to shut down the school. There was a 2 hour span between the shootings.

ignorant does seem the right word. ....it was kind of a kneejerk/nervous chuckle - maybe because a lighthearted joke was the last thing i expected to see. trust me, i'm feeling nothing but depression and sympathy today.

Within the last two weeks, there were two separate bomb threats against engineering department buildings at the university. These could have been a form of preoperational surveillance to gauge the response times and procedures of university police.

I am so glad that the media keeps telling us that this is the largest shooting in US history.
Good job guys. keep letting us know that. Great coverage.

They beat the Imus story to a pulp. Things were long overdue to move on for media whores.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Strange, that Kehoe wiki entry seems sanitized of late. Look at the Bath school disaster entry.

from Univ of Michigan's pages on Criminal Justice Resources:

Although the terms "serial killer" and "mass murderer" are often used synonymously, criminologists distinguish the two. The following distinctions are commonly made:

--A serial killer is one who commits a number of murders over a long period of time, with the killings separated by often long periods of apparent normalcy.

--A mass murderer, on the other hand, is an individual who kills several people in a single event.

--A spree killer kills in a series of closely connected events.

"the bunker"
padre...is it possible that the v.t. campus is one of these "gun free zones" where not even security is allowed to carry?.....i don`t know...

maybe i jumped the gun on the "shutdown campus" issue?....and just maybe you`re jumping the gun on the second amendment?....

somebody might argue that without the 2nd amendment you can`t have the first....

they`re saying this guy chained the doors so people couldn`t escape....like sheep in a pen......and there were some window jumpers....

sick phuck....
