"On Sept. 4, Groubert pulled over Levar Edward Jones for a seatbelt violation in Columbia, South Carolina, and subsequently shot the unarmed man in the hip."

This is precisely why I oppose these types of laws. Having so many ticky-tacky things against the law just gives the government too many opportunities to interfere in your life, which invariably, in a fraction of cases, leads to these types of situations.

On the course!
I feel bad that he kinda dove back in the truck like that, and came wheeling back out.

But, the cop should have been yelling, "Let me see your hands", not 'get out of the car'.

what kind of moron dives back into his car when a cop is telling him to "get out of the car?"....yelling it?...

seriously with everything all over the media, why don`t people just do what the guy with the gun and the badge tells them to do?...

how hard is that?

o.k...I retract what I said...he asked the guy to see his license and then the guy went back into the car for his licenese...I didn`t hear the "can I see your license"(it sounded garbled the first time).....

the cop f`ed up his instructions and I`m pretty sure the driver will make some serious jack.......

my bad...

Come on!

Listen, I'm not giving that cop a pass here, but that kid whirled around, leaned in the truck, and was right back out, and whirled around again......THREE SECONDS!

This was a textbook fuck up, pure and simple. This video will be shown to cadets for years, as what not to do!

But, Jesus Christ! You don't go back into your vehicle on a stop like that! Tell the cop, "My ID is in my car."

The big problem is, his heart is racing 100mph, the cops is, too.............These incidents will never stop happening.

C'mon! I see no defense for this police officer's actions. Completely out of hand. Seat belt violation?? this is the kind of case the Reverend and Sharpton need to represent not the thug in Missouri.

Christ that Cop was a idiot. Number one, I am 50 and I could tell by that low resolution video that he had no gun in his hand coming out and by his attire he didn't even come close to looking like a thug. Not to mention how fucking dumb he was not being aware of his own car having a cam. Because of that he was fired and arrested. Obviously they saw the same thing I did. Was the kid dumb for doing what he did? Yes. Still didn't deserve to get shot. PERIOD.

I don't know why anyone would get into that line of work.

I can't imagine too many jobs out there where you have to worry about getting killed or fired every minute of the day.

I don't think that's the norm. Maybe in the big cities it's a rough line of undesirable work but most places are not like what you see on the news. These instances are pretty rare if you consider how many cops are employed in this country. That's my 'off the top' thought but I could be wrong.
