don't know if it was coincidence or on purpose but found it quite humerous.
They were airing speech of Obama in Oregon as he was wailing away on high gas prices and his solutions--he no sooner finished than they aired this headline--

Chicago has highest gas prices in U.S :142smilie

CAMARILLO, Calif. - A national survey says the average price for regular gasoline rose about 17 cents in the last two weeks, with the highest price in Chicago at $4.07 a gallon.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline on Friday was $3.79 a gallon. Mid-grade was at $3.91, and premium was $4.02. That's according to the Lundberg Survey of 7,000 stations nationwide released Sunday.

For the first time, the survey found average prices for regular gas surged above $4 a gallon in two metropolitan areas: Chicago and on Long Island in New York.

Of the cities surveyed, the cheapest price was in Tucson, Ariz., where a gallon of regular cost $3.48 on average.

Hmm Is there a lesson to be learned here :)

what a twisted way to look at that.

Obama has no more control over gas prices in Chicago as McCain does in Arizona.

Look at Bush if you want to see why gas
is 4 bucks a gallon.

McCain would give us a gas holiday and save us
9 bucks a month. whoopy whoop

You might want to look at states with highest gas taxes--funny how they coincide with states with highest gas prices --Hawaii-CA-NY Ill -what do they all have in common--is there a lesson here :)
http://www.energy.ca.gov/gasoline/statistics/gas_taxes_by_state_2002.html

In a perfect world we could have state rights on drilling--and 50 cent gas tax--let each state live with their convictions ;)

I will grant you O has nothing to do with gas prices nor will he if he is pres--other than raise them via taxes.

on another tangent in watching his speech--notice how he never uses an example of anything he's accomplished--it always telling what others did wrong--or what he will do--

Most candidates use history and acomplishments to back up claims--romney on economy was bring his state back in black olympics ect.

Whats obama going to say as senator from city with one of highest misery index --

He was nominted as chairman of a committee in senate--but its never met.

Went on 10 day trip to Iraq and Afgan with 8 others senators but cut out next day after arrival-

I asked several here at start what his accomplishments/qualifications are and best answer I've got was- look them up yourself.

All hat--no cattle :)

Yeh Bush had the same argument, he really hadnt done shit for accomplishments other than run a losing baseball team, try to run a state.

Its all in the draw. Some people just have a inherant ability to get things done.
Bush did not.

Lets hope Obama is differant. No accomplishments, alot of positive changes . that would be a good start.

DTB - share some love for the black man geezz

(CNN) ? Sen. Robert Byrd, the longest-serving senator in American history, announced Monday he is endorsing Barack Obama's White House bid.

Byrd, 90, has served as West Virginia's senator for nearly fifty years, and is one of the chamber's most vocal critics on the war in Iraq.

"After a great deal of thought, consideration and prayer over the situation in Iraq, I have decided that, as a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention, I will cast my vote for Senator Barack Obama for President," Byrd said in a statement released by his office. "Both Senators Clinton and Obama are extraordinary individuals, whose integrity, honor, love for this country and strong belief in our Constitution I deeply respect."

"I believe that Barack Obama is a shining young statesman, who possesses the personal temperament and courage necessary to extricate our country from this costly misadventure in Iraq, and to lead our nation at this challenging time in history," Byrd also said. "Barack Obama is a noble-hearted patriot and humble Christian, and he has my full faith and support.":00hour :00hour

The endorsement is not without symbolism. Byrd was a leader of the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan as a young man and was, along with several southern Democrats, an opponent of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He has since denounced his previous views on racial segregation.:SIB
...........................................................

See even former leaders of the KKK can share some love for Obama .

PRESTONSBURG, Kentucky (CNN) ? Hillary Clinton defended her reasoning for staying in the presidential race Monday afternoon by pointing out that Karl Rove's analysis shows her to be the strongest candidate against John McCain in November.:142smilie

Then she veered from her usual argument.

?Just today I found some curious support for that position when one of the TV networks released an analysis done by - of all people - Karl Rove, saying that I was the stronger candidate,? said Clinton. ?Somebody go a hold of his analysis and there it is.?:142smilie :142smilie
...............................................................

Psst Hillary - Rove is not your friend,

If anything he would like to see you and billy sent into bankruptcy trying to keep on until June.

They are all places I'd much rather live than Kentucky.

Will go along with Hawaii and California -weather primary reason --but if were offered 1 million dollars with stipulation I had to reside in Chicago or Ny City it would not even be a consideration. I concur with national misery index on both cities-
If you can clue me in on what I'm missing by not being resident of either--I'd be happy to compare my list of reasons to avoid.

Scott Have always been aware of KKK as radical org
but people know they are--wasn't really aware same thing went on inside churches,

Don't have any use for any radical orgs myself--which ever their origin.

Why would I try to sell you on these places? You've already said you'd sooner live in Baghdad.

Appears I'm not by myself--ironic that some here believe those who states residents are leaving in masses --somehow would produce hope and change nationally--must be the Tony Robbins syndrom.
--only sad thing is--you can't make these folks from top 3 liberal meca's NY Ca and Ill live with their conviction--they vote in these liberals then get the hell out of dodge when they see consequences :)

The Census Bureau measured domestic migration - people moving within the United States - from 1990 to 2000, and from 2000 to 2004. The report provides the number of people moving into and out of each state and the 25 largest metropolitan areas.

The states that attracted the most new residents: Florida, Arizona and Nevada. The states that lost the most: New York, California and Illinois.
Among the 25 largest metropolitan areas, 18 had more people move out than move in from 2000 to 2004. New York, Los Angeles and Chicago - the three biggest metropolitan areas - lost the most residents to domestic moves. The New York metropolitan area had a net loss of more than 210,000 residents a year from 2000 to 2004.
Richard Florida, a professor of public policy at George Mason University, said smaller, wealthier households are replacing larger families in many big metropolitan areas. via AP.org.

P.S. I assume this will be the end of this thread:SIB

Absolutley amazing - the 3 most populated states had the 3 largest numbers of people move from them. Groundbreaking material there, Dogs. Keep up the sparkling research.

Really failing to see your point, as I would rather live in FL, NV, and AZ than KY as well. ....And that says a lot because Florida is a repulsive cesspool and AZ-NV are miserable hellholes.

whats amazing Smurph is exit polls show concerns of most people is economy and most half the population can't figure out the Dem controled states have the worst economics of the U.S.

If there is anything funnier or more justified than line of cars loaded with liberals exiting Illinois with "Yes we can"--"Hope" -"Change" bumber stickers --I'd like to know what it is--:142smilie

Hey smurph

I just heard that McCain cant take Arnold Swarenegerr as a VP because he is not born in USA.

I thought he got over that hurdel to become Govenor.

I would vote for Arnold for President.

I think he has done a tremendous job in California.

I predicted that he would when alot of people said he would flop.

Lets see OJ Simpson, Scott Peterson, Arnold , Vick , and Hillary , I think I got a pretty good read on people in the news.
