You guys need to pull your Phil Steel bible out and
look at the ACC, I'm going to pay special attention
to this conference this year, the matchups are
VERY INTERESTING. Hope the spreads are juicy,
schedules are brutal. Not saying they aren't in
other conferences, just the way they are stacked
up. Maybe I'm over reacting, but first glance, these
teams are not going to be UP every game. I'll be
looking for dog situations this year and the ACC
smells like a wet pup. :142smilie

Hola Kramer-- Thanks for your contributions. I, too, circle games before the season starts. Most of the games I circle are based on potential letdown spots for road favs. As it has turned out, I normally wind up playing the majority of the sides I circled. I have used this technique succesfully for 3 years and will continue to do so until it fails me. Of course, these plays normally make up about 10% of my overall plays.

Anyway, I was just curious if you have had success in the past with this technique and as an ncaafb capper in general...

Cie, I am all over the map in selecting my plays. I
do not consider myself a heavyweight in sports
gambling. But there are 30-40 (at least) in these
forums. I get all my info here at jacks place. No
need to go anywhere else, besides, too much
info can clog the brain. And I limit my plays to
7 to 10 plays a week, including college and pro.
It takes a strong play to make my cut. I always
post a parlay or two on Friday or Sat morning, and
within those are 5 or 6 that I play straight up. I
don't post my straight up plays for various reasons,
not the least of which is the thought of jinxing
myself. I like to research games two months in
advance because time is on my side. During the
season time is not on my side. I have a limited
amount of time due to work that I can devote
to analyze the games. That's where this forum
comes into play, it helps me with the research
needed and cuts down the time needed to make
a play. This is a hobby for me and I get a ton of
enjoyment out of it. I also keep my exposure to
bad money management to a bare minimun. If I
do happen to lose on any particular week, it
won't be much. If I hit one of my parlays, I'm
going to have a winning year. I hit two good
ones last year. The year before I hit a good one
and a huge one. I get my most enjoyment out
of building parlays. If I did this for a living, I'd be
homeless. To much pressure, and I'm not good
enough. But I've found my niche and am happy
with it. I do think I can contribute some info
from time to time but in no way am I a wealth
of gambling knowledge. But there are many like
yourself who are. I have been doing this for a
long while and have learned the hard way many
of the no-no's of throwing down a bet. Hope you
have a very successful season this year Cie, I will
be tailing some of your selections. I am also
pulling for your Saints, I think they have the tools
to build on last year and can go all the way.

Right on, Kramer. You and I have similar games "circled", which is why I inquired if this technique has worked for you in the past. Like you and Al, I do not rely on gambling for income. It sure feels good to collect, but this is definitely a hobby for me.
