I've been very busy in a local forum all week, since they passed a smoking ban in the bars here, and those guys are all pissed!

That's funny. I came up there a couple years ago on a business trip to the Friskies plant in Jefferson and stayed in Milwaukee.

I walked into the hotel bar/restaurant and I was taken aback by all the smoke. I really was surprised. I couldn't remember the last time I had been in a place that served food and allowed smoking, including Las Vegas.

Don't really care in that situation, but the breakfast at Perkins, or whatever, could be a little more pleasant without some dude blowing smoke seemingly at you.

When they passed it here in FLorida a few years back, it hurt business at the restaurant bars for about thirty days..........Then all the drunks realized they weren't going to change it back and they're all back now. The only difference is that now they get off their lazy asses twice an hour to go outside and light up.

Yep, I know it's coming. Just very unfair the way it is now. We have a smoking ban here (Menomonie), but the bars are exempt, and we are still surviving. Town next to us (Eau Claire), the ban includes bars, and they are getting killed. The state should make a decission one way or the other so all the bars are on equal footing.

In Iowa the smoking ban in public (except in the casinos--go figure--nice to have a non-smoking one right across the river) took effect July 1st, 2008. Its very nice to come home from the bowling alley and not have to undress in the basement so that the whole house doesn't end up smelling like cig smoke...

People registering complaints such as this might want to try going to the ORIGINAL SOURCE and paying for that information instead of assailing Mr. Madjack. Normally, in the U.S., which is still a capitalistic society, if you want something you may pay for it and get it. If it is posted publically in violation of laws, people can be sued. That's the way it works.
