Tough Loss

I had to put down one of my girls today, Bella. Tough loss for me. I know many are connected to their pets, but both my dogs are special given they were with my first wife who passed to cancer and our babies if you will. Having them through that ordeal pretty much help save me mentally....ie going home to something, eating with them, sleeping with them and not an empty house. Lost a big part of me today. Great 10 years!

This was hard for me, very hard, but the right thing. Awesome dog.

Brian, sorry for your loss bro. I went through the same thing 5 months ago with my chocolate lab...best dog I've ever had. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. Very difficult but she lived like a princess and had a very happy life, in which I'm sure yours did as well.

Thx all. My other one is 11.5 and on borrowed time too, and I thought would be the first. I am mentally prepared for that. My Bella, no fucking way. She got really sick a few weeks ago and after the work ups they found mass on heart, I had them drain fluid off heart and re-evaluate and brought her home. She was great for 8 days, we go to bed last and she walks up stairs w me and collapses. Held her all night we did and had home vet come to house this morning. Right thing to do, but absolutely sucks!! Hard that was.

I remember those threads well......I know you must be distraught.....

it always has to end like this but your buddy was there for you and you were always there for him...it doesn`t get any more perfect than that...you can`t ask for much more than that...

Very, very sorry. 'Rainbow Bridge' my friend. We will see all of our friends again someday. I went through this last year about this time for two months with my Jack Russell named Sparky. 15 great years. When the time was right I rescued a very dopey Black Lab/Chow mix named Jordan. The different personalities help because both are the greatest in their own way.
