I don't know how I would have reacted but I most likely would have gone into the restroom and gotten my daughter out prior to fabulicity going in.

That's not the point.

The question is whether having transgender people using the restroom of the gender they identify with will increase or enhance the ability for a man to dress as a woman and somehow molest your children.

This may come as a surprise to many of you, but men have always had that same opportunity. Nothing has changed. I fail to see any correlation between the two topics. If a pedophile wants to diddle a kid, how many take the time to buy an outfit, learn to put on make up and walk in heels, all to go see if some unsuspecting parent will let their child run into the restroom unaccompanied. I'm sorry, but that's absurd. He could go to a high school football game where the younger siblings run around with friends unattended for two hours while mom and dad watch junior sit on the bench. Human beings, even the sick ones, are apathetic in nature. Why would they go to all that trouble of dressing up, knowing full well they'll never be able to pull it off without being identified, when they can go to Chuck E, Cheese dressed as themselves and have a virtual smorgasbord of children to choose from.


I'm not saying you're wrong in wanting to protect your kids, but you are wrong in saying this mandate somehow increases the likelihood of sexual perversion or molestation in a restroom. It's simply untrue.

I don't care. It will have zero effect on my life.

I'm very sorry to read this about your daughter and truly hope you can ultimately find some way to not have your insides churn about it.

I do not believe it gives perverts easier access to restrooms as there has never been anyone physically denying access to them in the first place. The only thing that's ever been in place to allay this behavior are the criminal laws allowing prosecution of offenders and they're all still in place. So what specifically has changed?


Just wanted to add, the second paragraph wasn't directed solely at you layinwood. More of a forum comment. Didn't want you to think I was diminishing your situation in any way shape or form.

I don't know what all has been said in this thread but the laws that are being passed go well beyond which bathroom you can use. Stripping rights and protections based on sexuality is wrong. There are so many real issues Mississippi could focus and this is what they do? Fuck Mississippi, their idiot state government and the people that elected them. Fucking shameful...
