I just don't know what was wrong with the way it was before? Why the need for the change? Is the transgender demand to use women's bathrooms a top priority?

I have a feeling you will take this and run a different direction but what you said here isn't what I believe most are talking about in this thread. I DON'T worry about a transgender and their issues. I certainly don't think they're more likely to do something to my daughter.
What I do worry about is this gives creepy ass men that like to peek at girls and women an easier opportunity to do that. I'm saying this as someone who has had something happen to my daughter in public when she was 6. That was 7 years ago and it's something that still hurts my stomach when I think about it. So saying that I may be a little over protective of my daughter.

Tho way back 1979 I remember at the art school at the Univ of Oregon the bathrooms were labeled "people"....
but anyway, times they be changing...Maine Supreme Court recently ordered a school to accommodate the trans student because "it has been clearly established that a student's psychological well-being and educational success depend upon being permitted to use the communal bathroom consistent with her gender identity, denying access to the appropriate bathroom constitutes sexual orientation discrimination"
However, cisgender male pervs have long since been dressing up as females to gain access, these new laws dropping barriers will just make it somewhat easier to do what they already doing. But the usual codes of bathroom conduct, which violation of some carry criminal penalties, still remain. Tho enforcement will be more difficult...
