Depending on how today's weather, track, and mostly how the horsies run.. ... today is gonna tell me whether it's time for a long break again. Keeping the bets low has helped but the clear message I'm getting from my horsie friends at Philly is to STOP. Just like I wrote here.. I plan on doing just that if the crap continues but I ain't stoppin on a TUE$. We'll see.
Get ready to raise your eyebrows after reading this; but do read it cause there really is a point to this writing that could help some players...
Right after that 8th (or was it the 9th?) race yesterday I was sooo disgusted that I wrote that "I saw enough....". I saw that there was a 10th race and it looked playable. I planned to just see IF I could come up with a winner but ONLY for fun cause I was down and fed up enough at that point. I kept going over the 10th as the 9th race was running and to shorten this story... I did came up with 2 picks. Let's call them horse A and horse B to save some typing. I did wind up playing the race for real, thinking "might as well finish this day off". NO WAY was I gonna post a thing and embarrass myself more or even worser lose somebody else's moola.
Musta wrote this many times that the thing to do when you come up with exactly 2 picks AT PHILLY is to wheel one top/bot in zactas and play the other straight (Win,only or Win/Place or across the board). I also wrote to keep the bets small cause IF ya can cap em .. you'll win and IF ya can't cap em at least you'll know it and you won't lose much. That goes for the long run that is.That doesn't mean that you can't up the ante after the bankaroo has tripled though, but only by a little at a time.
Am I writing this to let yas know I hit a winner in the last race? HELL NO!. I'm writing this to prove a point. FACT IS, I'm still trying to figure out how I picked that no. 2 hoss in that last race. I have an idea but I won't get into that here.
My picks were the no. 2 and the no. 9. NOW, ya gotta decide which one to do the zacta thingy. I picked the lesser odds one, no. 9 (usually that is the best choice cause at Philly - you want to catch that Philly super long shot with YOUR horse to make the Super Philly zacta sandwich that tastes soo good). And at this twack... there's always one of them Super Subs coming down the conveyer belt from time to time.
Even making the wrong decision in that last step STILL worked for me like it should cause Tickling Tori won at 13-1 odds. My stinkin $4 win/place (4 each way) paid for the day with some left over (not much though) to cover some previous day losses as well. KEEP THE BETS SMALL, skip ALL the UNplayable races, and stay in the game, MJers.
Is the "wheel one and straight bet the other a good idea WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE TWO CONTENDER?". Oh yeeah! Here's why.... . .
Maybe I should start flipping a coin to make that decision cause the horse that finished second to my "hoss A wiener" was one of them Philly BOMBERS. Now, how bout collecting $719 on my ONE STINKIN dollar exactas? Yeah, that zacta paid $1,438.40. Again -> no, I didn't hit that exacta
I'll post today's play(s) in this thread and BEWARE cause I ain't changing my methods of picking them which had horrendous results lately.
