I'm guessing that life expectancy has a lot more to do with infant mortality rates than the diet that people in those countries are eating. For example, in the U.S. the infant mortality rate is 6/1,000 live births, as opposed to countries like Somalia (103.72/1,000) or Ethiopia (75.29/1,000). This greatly skews the "life expectancy".
The United Nations estimates that approximately 18,000 children die from starvation everyday worldwide, and that also greatly skews the life expectancy in poor countries. Maybe if we didn't eat like such hogs here, then other people could live longer.
Who really wants to argue that the processed crap Americans are eating is healthier than whole foods? It might be easier, tastier, and more convenient for you, but no way can you argue it is healthier.
