I heard about Verizon changing their pricing and didn't believe what I hear but called just now about my bill anyway.

We have 2 smartphones, 1 basic phone, and 1 tablet with unlimited calls and texting and 8 gigs of data. Before I called my monthly basic bill was $199 before taxes and whatnot.

Now, after that phone call, nothing has changed and my basic bill before taxes and whatnot is $134 a month.

I'll say that was a very productive phone call. $65 a month is huge!

Hopefully I'll get the same results. Did you talk to customer retention or just the regular customer service?

Thanks.

Here is my breakdown - I could have had most of these months and months ago. I just didn't know and the girl I talked to was just very helpful.

$15 save smartphone out of contract
$15 save smartphone out of contract
$10 that everybody will get just for calling
$10 insurance that I don't need since I'm good for an upgrade
$5 navigation that I don't need
$10 off the basic phone

Yep, Verizon will usually fold and give you a credit. You know who won't though? DIRECT TV will not, they will try to stick you every way they can. They tried to help me out at first, but their prices were not in line with what they quoted which made me even madder. The only reason I kept their shit service for close to two years was because of the Sunday Ticket. Fuck it now, I'll just go over to a friends place to watch it. You can stream just about anything nowadays. I just cancelled their service and will never come back. Bunch of assholes running that place.

the new More everything deal from them is 140 for 4 smartphones and 8gig

If I swapped out my tablet and basic phone for smartphones, I imagine I would pay that. Not sure though. My phone I pay $5 extra a month for international calling so my plan would be $140 without that. I take care of my mom's phone, the basic one, but she wouldn't be able to use a smartphone anyway.

My fault for not staying on top of my charges because I have been over paying since April 2014.

When I moved to Indiana I cancelled the DIRECTV. They started sending me offers to come back aboard. They sent those offers every month. After a month or two I started throwing them away without opening them. About 8 months, maybe longer down the road, I started getting calls from a collection company. I found out they were collecting for DIRECTV. "FOR WHAT, I CANCELLED THEM AND PAID IN FULL WHEN I CANCELLED?"

It turns out that DIRECTV automatically starts charging you 60 days after you move as if you had started back up with them. That's in the fine print somewhere. They were charging me like 6 months of service that I never had. They even knew I wasn't using their service but that is their policy unless you call and cancel *AGAIN*! Holy shit I went ape shit and it took weeks before I finally got that settled with them and they took the charges off. I had to make phone calls and send certified letters, all kinds of shit to clear that off. One of the biggest hassles I ever had with anybody.

I will never, EVER, do business with them after that ordeal.

Was a loyal customer with Direct TV for 12 years. But gave it up couple years back. I tried to work out a better price plan with them but they would`nt budge. What got me was if your a new customer you get a hell of a deal vs what I was paying. Cancelled that crap and the only thing they wanted was my card sent in. So guess what three months later got another bill for movies supposedly I watched in 2004 and 2005! Paid off that 86$ and I`m done with Direct TV. Then for two solid months after I left they'd call up all the time with some nice deals, half of what I was paying ... why would`nt they work with me when I was a paying customer? Thru a hd antenna on the roof and stream what I can and never looked back! Saves me 120$ a month.

It's a nightmare, I tell you. They pissed me off in November when they charged my bill with a few movies I never ordered as well. I just cancelled and said I'd never do business with them again, they're total fucking assholes from the executive offices down to the customer service people.

Thought about taking them to small claims court for the over billing but didn't want to hassle with it.

I know for a fact the judge neutrally dismisses most of those types of cases anyways (letting you out of contract and not reimbursing you for amount billed). The stupid dipshit companies pay out the nose for corporate counsel though.
