Got through the weekend with only mild bruises. Let's see what WEEKDAY wacin produces...

Comments on today's card:
Only a so/so card for a Monday; still beats weekend cards at this track though. On a good note - looks like there's plenty of beatable favorites, in fact, EASILY beatable. On a bad note - I'm pretty sure many of those beatable favorites (M.L.) AIN'T gonna be favored at post time. :(

Race 2
No. 1, Mystical Light, 9-2 . I don't think it makes sense to list all the dang wheeling and dealing I'm gonna do with this hoss. IF he's a winniah - pretty sho the tri is mine... if he runs 2nd it's pretty safe to say the zacta is mine. For the sake of posting.. let's make him a W/Pl/Sh (only 2x for me cause I'm kinda heavy into the zotics). I also have a 4/2/1 straight tri going though for 2 stinkin bucks. Might as well add that - if he runs outa the moola - I'll be starting today with some more bruises fosho.... if the nos. ain't 4-2-1.

Biggest reason I like this one is (1) I've seen what he can do and (2) cause I believe he's gonna have clear sailing with the two slow pokes leaving the gate along side of him. No. 4 is dangerous in this race, but it's gonna have to run some to get by "Light" and if it sits second, the 2 and the 6 may block the 4 in early stretch. Think "Light" may have enough gas left to hang on. Excellent jockey on his back helps too. Well, hope so.

Race 4
DEFINITELY do NOT recommend anybody plays along with the cwazy pick I got for this race. This horse just LUVS to run last. I'm playing the hoss cause I liked (and posted) her a few weeks back at tremendous odds. She showed a little life in her previous race and she's a Philly old timer. OH YEAH, she ran her race alright that day I picked her - finished dead last (field of 11 too), beaten by double digit lengths which she is very accustomed to do.
other_beatingA_DeadHorse.gif

Well, she showed she's alive at Atantic City (NO, NO, she didn't finish in the money; she was 6th BUT NOT LAST). I gotta play her today but still not sure how. Rest assured the tickets will be small ones. I ain't that wacko.
Why do I bother even posting her? ACTUALLY, I don't wanna come in here tomorrow and write about how I nailed a $100+ winnah today without posting her.
Ooops, almost forgot.. her name is Mi Preciosa.

Race 5
Mdn races are usually skipped. But no. 3, Knocked Out, 9-2 looks awfully tough in here. Won't have high hope of getting that M.L. on this one though.

Race 6
No. 7, High Player, 7-2. Hey, what the hell is "The Big Stable" doing here at broken down Philly Wace Twack?? :0023
Thems a Class A outfit outa Gulfstream. Maybe the Philly players won't recognize this and let this one go off at them nice M.L. odds YUM MEE.

Race 8
Thought this race was MY KINDA RACE. Know the horses, like this distance, etc. Well, not after going over it real careful like .... for NUTHIN.
My nos. say the no. 1 moiders da bums. I'm just not so sure about that though. If he looks real good on the track I'll bite. The ones I'm gonna be sure to check out are the nos. 3 and 4, they're the two longest shots in the race. I DO know that, on either's good day, they can compete with these and surely have a better chance than 20-1 to beatem.

(gotta shorten up, getting out of breath with all the typing and all . Won't be doing this tommorow just to read it back to myself)

Race 9
No. 3 is the bestest bet of the day.(So far, that is. Didn't check out last race yet)
No. 8 has the figures
No. 6, Sum Chance. If ya can just ignore his last race and checkout his previous 3 races (not long ago and not lower class neither).. and thems got him listed at 20-1. 20-1? :00x12
I don't sink so!

That's what I'm up to . G.L.

HM, I'll get into the preakness later this week. Got plenty of RE-studying to do in my Horseolgy course.
Did ya do OK in your final exam?

Nosigar, thanks for the head up. I firgured it would be. Thinking that may be my problem today cause, yesterday, I checked how I've been doing for THE YEAR at Philly. Sunny days were just that for me. But, turns out that I'M THE ONE GETTING MUD IN MY FACE on sloppy days. :(

Also, confirmed that WW (weekday waces) are for me.

Thanks to that wacko play... hanging in there today. If you saw that race... you saw my pick looking like a sure winnah even in late stretch. Zacta helped a lot, but IF she won - that would made the day so far. Thats horse racing as they say.

Somebody musta known something in that race though. Look at her record and go figure how she only went off at 12-1.

Gotta do the last race. G.L.

May have to call in and take vacation days on these sloppy track days. I'll still give tomorrow a shot though since it's "TEAR up the track, Tuesday".
No. 5 didnt' look good at all in the prerace for today's 8th. Nos. 1 and 7 ran fine early in the race, but folded. Did play (small tickets W/Pl/Show at 2x) on Irish Eddie; didn't collect enough to cover the garbage though.

I'll prob. post something for the last race.

Results

Ok, now let's see what that zacta paid.

editing for results, that red shirt is getting me dizzy. Looks like DeJoka got my man's no. We'll see what happen at the French.

zacta paid $19 +.
This place gives the players some extra edge with them prices. Thank you.

Sorry, PTs ... I shoulda mentioned that the no. 3 looking pretty UNinterested in the paddock. Still, I did decent sized zactas with the no. 7 back and forth with the 8 and 3.

Let's see about the 10th and thank Gawd it is the LAST race today.

More weekday racing - Tues

More weekday racing - Tues

Striker, sorry I didn't notice your reply and very nice pick. I was doing too much rushing. I usually steer clear of Mdn. races mostly due to first timers (that I can't figure) like the one you picked.

Notice the exacta payoff in that 7th race; Philly exotic prices are generous.

Tear up the Track Tuesday
Well I sho hope it ain't gonna be "Tear up the dang Tickets Tuesday". Had enough of that crap lately !
Gotta mention that I did some checking back over my record at Philly. Had plenty of beautiful SUNNY days at Philly but, just as I thought, - I'm usually a losah when the track is off. I do account for it in my capping, but guess I ain't doing it right (?). Gotta do more race skipping while the track is muddy until I get the slop thang straightened out. That's exactly my intentions today....

Gonna go for it though in the 6th race. Going a bit overboard on the bets, but ONLY playing 2 or maybe 3 races for the entire card. That means I'm NOT going overboard for the DAY.
You can tell who the picks are from the exotics I'm playing on this race. I do like the 3 and 6 better than the 1 or 2 but the latter are sorta insuring the trifecta plays.
Trifectas 3,6/1,2,3,5,6/1,2,3,5,6
And
Exactas 1,2 OVER 3,6,7

7th race
1,2 top/bottom w. 5,8 exactas.

No play on the last (10th) race yet, but I do like no. 2, Pico Mon. Win/Place/Show 3x is prob. the way to go with that one. Good early speed from the inside, pretty consistant, I've seen him a no. of times and he always looked good, and his last race was excellent.

Cons.. a bit of a layoff and no record on the DANG off track. :(
Oh, and one more caution that most folks don't consider too.... the inside portion of the track can get pretty mushed up by the last race on muddy tracks and ... well, that's where Pico will be spending all of his time during this race too. Fusilier has a terrible record but I'm seeing him improving A LOT lately and I'll have to take my chances with him aboard Pico. He should help the odds too.
Exacta candidate to go with him would be the no. 3 or 9.

Definitely not the best 3 day streak I've had this Philly weekly session. Did fine with those two crazy longshot picks, but the bankeroo is telling me to cool it with the no. of plays and to stay away from the dang mud flying around out there.

Thanks to those who stopped in here.

Good luck today.

Got too sloppy for me. I'll watch from the sideline. What a miserable day. The tens of people in attendance must be miserable.
