Hey everybody. Hope that all is well. Obviously haven't been around for a while, not even lurking. Read the golf thread and should be able to make it. Might be on a family vacation that week but will do everything I can.

Work has been kicking my ass lately but that's a good thing. We've already billed more in the 1st quarter than we did in the 1st half of last year so things are cooking here.

High school baseball and softball season started a few weeks ago and I've already announced a dozen games. Our baseball program loves to live on the edge. The last 3 home games we've fallen behind by 4, 5 and 7 runs only to come back and win in the Bottom of the 7th with 2 walk-off HR and a walk-off Grand Slam. Those are the fun games to announce!

Have made it to the golf course 3 times this year. Played the ball down every time and have shot 83, 82 and 81 so not too unhappy with those results. Two of those three rounds have been in extremely windy conditions.

Family life is great. It's made me realize that a lot of things I thought were important aren't. I still play golf, cards, etc. but find myself wanting to be home more with my girls. Teresa has two beautiful daughters (11 & 4) and it's been awesome building a relationship with them.

Primary Election is around the corner here. I'm running for Precinct Committeeman in my district. Was appointed to the City of Greenfield Board of Works a few months ago. I've decided that if I get anymore involved in politics it's going to be for an office I'm running for. I spread myself way too thin as it is. I'm the treasurer for our County Coroner and working on several friends campaigns. Time for me to lighten my load and this is a good start.

Well, just wanted to check in with everyone. Again, hope that everyone is doing well and will do my best to make it to the golf outing. If you haven't been to one yet do yourself a favor and sign-up. You won't regret it.

Cheers! :toast:

The rolling bar is an institution at the Golf Outing and I certainly don't want to stop that tradition.

Highly unlikely I will miss, but just putting it out there just in case. With the new school calendar starting this fall, the girls begin school on August 1. Our plan is to spend a week in Virginia with Agent and Hippo but with Hippo in Colorado for the month of June we are limited to July only and then we have to work around the ex-husband's schedule.

Speaking of "the douche" as I like to call him, last night was the third time when it has been his night/weekend with the girls that Teresa and I have had to take either Samantha or Rebecca to the ER because he can't be bothered (visitation/living arrangements are split evenly among us). Last Wednesday Rebecca had her tonsils removed and has really been struggling with pain. As the day progressed yesterday she said the pain was getting worse and found it difficult even to take a sip of water. Teresa took the girls over to their dad's house and spoke to him and his girlfriend about Rebecca. Less than an hour later they called to say that she had bleeding in her throat and could we take her to the hospital because he hadn't had anything to eat all day and they were just sitting down to dinner. Really? So Teresa and I picked her up from her dad's and took her to Riley Children's Hospital downtown. After several nurses and other staff looked at her they decided that she need to have surgery and cauterize the scabs in her throat (I hope I explained that correctly). He never once called or texted Teresa wanting to know how Rebecca was doing, although Rebecca was asking for him. Once it was determined that she was having surgery, Teresa called him and they (he and his girlfriend) finally showed up after the surgery started. They couldn't find anyone to watch the kids (her 3 and our Samantha). Excuse me, if my daughter is having surgery, I would have turned to my girlfriend and said, "You need to stay here and watch the kids so I can go to the hospital." He is such a self-absorbed jerk.

Sorry for the rant but I was at the hospital until almost 2 AM then went home to sleep for a few hours. Teresa stayed at the hospital. Happy to report she had a quick and successful surgery. They got the bleeding stopped and hopefully everything should be fine.

In this case I would have been at the hospital asap, thats what real dads do...feel for you buddy, divorce fucking sucks...Do you get along with her ex husband? If you don't its going to be hell, best of luck my friend...I would not wish divorce on my worst enemy especially with small kids
