I need to pick up a GPS. I'd like one that I could move from my car to my wife's.

Which one should I get?

Is there installation required?

Is there a monthly or year subscription cost?

Get a GARMIN. Works right out of the box, can be moved car-to-car with easy suction mount, and most of all they are so user friendly even wives can use them! Nothing to download unless you want to upgrade maps in a couple of years. Just make sure you take it with you when you leave your vehicle 'cause they're a hot item for thieves!!

Our garmin nuvi 350, 1 and a half years old, just broke (can't find satellites). They want me to pay as much as I did to buy it to have them fix it :sadwave:

After researching the issue it seems to happen frequently. 3 weeks ago I would have highly recommended it but now I would beware.

I'm a sales guy and on the road all of the time. I think its finally time I give up my crumpled up and out of date road maps.

Plus I want to be able to mark fishing spots at the cottage.

I'm getting the one Raymond has. Maybe thats what he's using to find all of these freaking winners! :00hour

i was a salesman for many years and can understand the need for gps. otherwise, i do not understand.

i've had onstar for about 8 years and never really needed it. been meaning to cancel it for a long time now. i think they bill me yearly.

who knows, they're toast.

I'm a "Systems Consultant". Basically I sell computer network infrastructure. Servers, switches, routers and IP phone systems. I've been doing a lot of network security audits as well.

We also staff about 30 developers. Many of my customers hire us to develop custom software applications and hosting.

So basically I'm a computer sales guy.
