Timely topic for me as the ringing in my ears started back in November with a bout of what you are describing, weasel.
Doc gave me the same meds; I only had the projectile vomiting for a day and the dizziness went away after a couple of days.
Finally got fed up the 1st of this month and my doc referred me to the audiologists. They put me through a battery of tests, including an MRI of my head and bloodwork.
They didn't find anything and I'm going back to the audiologists next week to begin trying some hearing aids to see if they will help any. I hope they do; the ringing isn't debilitating, but its very annoying at times.
The 1st thing the audiologist told me when I met him is that not much is known about tinnitus and there is no known cure for it....

i feel your pain,brother......g.l. with getting well...

Pinched nerve in back or neck? When my shoulder goes out my neck gets crooked and I get some ringing issues. Goes away when I get adjusted.

don't have any issues with pain/discomfort in my back or neck, but I'm willing to try an adjustment. You talking chiropractic adjustment, Agent?

Yep. That's one of the first things they ask you, do you have ringing, etc.

When my shoulder gets really bad I even have hearing problems on that side.

have had memiere's for around 15 years. started with ringing in left ear and some high pitch deafness in same ear. progressed to dropsy wertigo. this is where unexpectly you have dizzyness and world starts spinning; but actually you start falling thinking you are still standing straight and hit the ground without even attemping to brace yourself as you think you are ok and everything else is spinning. went to 6 different doctors and after have fell in parking lot and 12 stiches in forehead where I hit the parking lot went to shea clicnic in memphis. Dr emmett said I had meniere's and was too far along to take pills to clear it up and would have to have operation to put shunt tube from middle ear to spinal fluid. had this done and have not had any problems in past 10 years but have lost all hearing left ear.

my advise would be to go to shea clicic asap in memphis as they are the best in country and patients will be there from almost the entire country and do not get in hurry as it is a all day thing even for checkups.

good luck and hope you are able to treat it with medication.

would not wish vertigo on anyone {well maybe a couple} it it is the most miserable and scary thing in the world, you really have no clue which way is up or down:scared

I mentioned because it is caused by inner ear problems and a lot of times ringing in your ears. I had another bout with the morning of Jack's outing last year, ear was ringing so bad and literally hurt to the touch. May have something to do with my stellar performance that day, I have never lost 8 balls in one round:mj07:

And I have not touched a club SINCE that day and only played about 25 rounds the last 5-6 years since getting vertigo, its hard enough to hit the ball sitting still, try hitting one that is moving and spinning:scared

still have this even worse than ever, and I've lost what I estimate to be at least 50% of my hearing. had thousands of dollars worth of negative tests. I qualify for a hearing aid now too! Maybe in a few years if it keeps getting worse. Kinda sux!

50% is substantial. you better get some help sooner than a few years, even if it's just the high frequencies because you need those tones to understand speech. a couple years without your brain being fed those tones, it will forget and nothing will help. just sayin. you don't want to walk around saying "huh?" your whole life. you're way too young, and if you have loss in both ears, you get help in both ears.

well, i'm refusing to get glasses too. I don't figure 20/25 and 20/30 is bad enough. I do say, "huh" a lot now that you mention it. sucks! My high pitched noises are toast. If I'm in a room with more than a few people talking or a loud motor running, forget about me hearing anything but somebody talking into my ear. :mj1:

Mine isn't getting worse but with my lifetime of limited hearing in the right ear coupled with the ringing I have in both ears and its off to the audiologists next week. Waited until the New Year as our insurance plan changed. Hope like hell they can find something that helps. I, too, can't hear anything other than someone talking directly into my left ear in a noisy room--again, I hope they can figure out something that will work for me.

it could be menieres (sp?) disease too.

I've had Menieres disease since the age of 18 . ENT Doctor diagnosed me way back in the 60's .
SALT .... Take the salt out of your diet.... the ringing sensation comes a pounding when I consume to much salt .... this is my problem with SALT , you may have another food or beverage that brings on the ringing sensation. Hope this is of some help.

hmmm... I'll try to see if I can figure out a dietary trigger. Thanks for the suggestion.
