Funny Scott, I calculated the EXACT day I will have saved enough from quitting smoking to have 12,000 to get in the WSOP which has been a goal I wrote down when I was 14. Of course they will probably switch the buy in to 25,000 :SIB

On board with you Jack--taking golf trip to Tunica 1st week in April and if I get back without smoking I'll figure I'll have it licked. Have been cutting back gradually since your 1st post last month.
Wondered if you remembered the jar thing--was thinking about your smoking stop date when I read about your father passing--sometimes traumatic experiences will give one added incentive and at times make it more difficult in handling the stress. We'll be pulling with you Jack--best thoughts for me in quiting are the efforts last time and knowing the old Bear got the job done. We'll hang tough this time around.;)

count me in. Not a heavy smoker, but enough to keep me hooked.

If I dont drink, I smoke about 3 to 4 a day.

If I drink, the more I drink, the more I smoke. I can knock a pack out in a night if I'm really drinkin.

I have smoked since I was 17, So I'm am hooked.

Damn

Donna and I are in. Last month we quit for 20 days and like idiots, we started again. (NEVER FELT BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Plenty of patches here (which work the best for us).

We talked about quitting sometime this week. Guess Monday's a good day as any!

My Dad is 75 and rides his bicycle about 25 miles everytime he goes out. I rode to the store the other day (to get smokes  ) and was out of breath after 2 miles.

Add 2 more to your list!

There will be some banning going on if you guys both quit :mj19: :mj19: :mj19:

Also Quest cigs helped me through the first couple days. They are no nicotine cigs, but they taste like shit :mj02: However in that moment where you HAVE to smoke, it will get you by without reingesting any nicotine.

This is going to be tough but I might, might being the key word, join you guys...Fuk the patches and gum....they are still feeding you nicotine...If I do this it will be cold turkey....Let me go have a smoke and think this over

yea, but it doesn't go to the lungs in the form of smoke carrying tar, nicotine, and all those other chemicals. the patch and gum feed you the part your body craves so there isn't any withdrawal problems. the part i really crave is the drawing of the smoke into my body. i LIKE that feeling but i don't ever want to be laying there like my father was, one day, gasping for air. man, i hope i can pull this off. this is serious chit, ask bear!
