Jack,

I'm in on the 'smokeout', have cut back and been telling family and friends I'm laying 'em down with a group online. We'll beat this thing!

DTB I got them at the convenience store just like a regular pack of cigs. They have 3 steps, 1-2-3, step 3 is no nicotine. I still have a pack in my car. They are like 3.65 a pack. Here is something retarded for you, I smoked for 12 years and only 1 time did I ever buy my cigs in a carton and that was because I was going on a golf trip and didn't want to run out. Other than that I paid one pack at a time because I always thought I would quit. Man is that fukcing stupid, but then again so is drawing poisonous smoke into your lungs.

i buy ALL of the marlboro "buy 1 get 1 free" deals. the most i ever bought at one time, in a store, was 40 2-pack deals (80 packs). usually they only have about 10 left but i always buy them all. winds up costing about 2.15 per pack. those days are history come monday. used to buy 15 cartons at a time online but the feds have been shutting those sites down. i'll probably get a tax bill in the mail one day for all the smokes i bought online.

Guy's I quit last year..i was in week two and started felling anxious..went to the book store and this book absoloutely saved me.

It's called: The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. Just checked it at amazon and it is the highest rated book by reviwers. I HIGHLY recomend you buy this book. Heres the editorial review:

Book Description

Allen Carr?s innovative Easyway method?which he discovered after his own 100-cigarette-a-day habit nearly drove him to despair?has helped millions kick smoking without feeling anxious and deprived. That?s because he helps smokers discover the psychological reasons behind their dependency, explains in detail how to handle the withdrawal symptoms, shows them how to avoid situations when temptation might become too strong, and enables them to stay smoke-free. Carr discusses such issues as nicotine addiction; the social ?brainwashing? that encourages smoking; the false belief that a cigarette relieves stress; the role boredom plays in sabotaging efforts to stop; and the main reasons for failure. With this proven program, smokers will be throwing away their packs for good.

Jack and other MJ smokers, heres how I quit:Someone gave me a lot of the 4 mg gum,I never read the directions that said to tuck it between your teeth and gums after the nicotine starts releasing.I just kept chewing them like a chicklet until all 4 mg of nicotine drenched my mouth .It was so overpowering I couldn't think about smoking anything for a couple of hours.I used 6 of them the first day,ate anything i wanted and made it thru day one.The next day I only used 5,by day ten I only needed one of them, because the nicotine was sooooo distasteful,it wasn't anything you'd get to like or get addicted to.Not reading the directions actually worked in my favor.Hope you can make it.

CONGRATULATIONS!
To all my friends who are about to gain their freedom!!
Cigarettes are one of the worst forms of substance abuse....legal,
accepted, affordable, prevalent (although less so today) and LETHAL!!......................God, when I think of all the cigarettes I smoked for over 40 years........ITS MIND BOGGLING THAT I DID NOT QUIT SOONER......Well, I feel great! In August it will be 5 years.....Probably 7 to 10 K ahead of the game.. in cash... but that NEVER was the incentive.........The daily dividend is MUCH BETTER HEALTH!
I went COLD TURKEY cuz I did not want to have another addiction or continued cravings for gum (my brother quit and chewed nicorrette for several years.. maybe the patch?? Well I just wanted it done!!!!!!!!!and I really worked my way mentally...to be very angry and it was them or me..(cigarette companies) They got me and kept me,with their additives, for 40+ years and I was pissed...I WON ..THEY LOST..I kicked their ass! (with help) :box2:. I was ANGRY and NOT FUN to be around but everyone understood and they were proud of me! My wife had just beat a rare, deadly, cancer and she was an inspiration as well!...........................BUT.....................
Most credit goes to Jack, DTB, Fletch, and the many others who joined in quitting and showed up each day to support and listen to my rants...The thread must have been tiresome to some but without it I would probably be joining the list here today......I THANK YOU ALL for that help!!!
I wish you all the best!!.... and I will be here to support you to your ultimate success against this crap!

healthy bear

I Quit Jan 26 and it was very easy

I checked out that site about 2 weeks ago. You can do a test (20 Questiosn) and it will tell you at the end how you did. I don't want to spoil it but recommend everyone who wants to quit to try the survey. It will really open your eyes and with a little google searching you will find why the answer is what is it!

Good site!

Thursday.. had 3 cigs today and its 5pm. Don't know why I'm really waiting for Monday but.. Monday it is!! :sadwave:
