Aerail of Dubai City downtown. You can see the axis of the Sheikh Zayed Road, the business center of the city and condensed with tall buildings in the area. You can also see the construction of Burj Dubai at the right far end. The progress of construction is just 1/3 at the moment.

The decoration of Dubai airport is dazzling.

DUBAI,- FEBRUARY 22: In preparation for the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open, tennis legend Andre Agassi of the USA and the World's No. 1 Roger Federer of Switzerland, couldn't resist the temptation to have a friendly 'hit' on the world's most unique tennis court, the Helipad of the Burj Al Arab, the world's most luxurious hotel. Standing 321 metres high on a man made island, the majestic Burj Al Arab is without doubt the most recognizable hotel in the world. The hotel's helipad, which is situated 211 metres high covers a surface area of 415 square metres. Roger Federer is the reigning champion of the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open and is making his third appearance in the tournament. For Agassi this is his first time to appear in the ATP tournament where he has already progressed to the second round having beaten Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic. The pictures were taken on February 22, 2005, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. (Photo by David Cannon/Getty Images)

This is Sheik Zayed Road in the distance, with the older part of Dubai in the foreground, before they started building up, rather than out.

As seen from a helicopter.

saw the signs for the market and wondered where the stalls were until I discovered they are all indoors in this wonderful air conditioned market hall. This is the Al Shindagha Market in Dubai.

holy crap........what a response...........and damn, what is with the bashing :scared Some madjackers were a tad harsh:scared

anyway.........after 3 hours of constant crying I have managed to pull through...........now I can respond:

kosar.........ummmmm I never said I would move to Dubai and then look for a job, I am not an idiot, there is no way I'd move from Canada to Dubai with no friggen job :scared I think ya jumped down my throat a tad fast! And I didn't say I would get a job merely because I spoke English:142smilie In the sales sector it is a huge plus to speak English because half of the decision makers in Dubai ONLY speak English and are almost all expats. That is all that I was implying.

Pawa..........I can't build shit, in fact I have trouble even holding a hammer:mj07: I can't even build a friggen sand castle:mj07:

Marine.....I am dead serious I will ask Jack for your e-mail, I appreciate you responding. And despite me getting bashed on here I actually have numbers to back up my sales background. I worked for a Fortune 500 company and was in the top 10% in sales numbers for the entire country. Sales is an easy job to see if you are any good or not. Sell stuff get paid, don't sell stuff get fired, pretty easy huh. Anyway I would be glad to send ya my resume, I hope the people you know are also serious. Obviously I wouldn't move to the other side of the planet unless the job was damn good:SIB

Doubledown..........thanks for the site, although I am not interested in the "cum assistant::mj07:

Thanks to the madjackers for your responses (even the bashers) and if any more want to make fun of me feel free. Or if any others want to add any more information then great! Although I must say, what is so wrong wanting to try something very different. Sure moving accross the globe to the Middle East may not be the smartest thing to do, but I didn't think it was that stupid:shrug: I would just like to challenge myself and take some risks, maybe it would be a mistake, but life is about taking chances and "going for it".....isn't it?

kickserv,

Hate to disappoint, I forgot you are a canadien.. not US.

The people I work with/for over in that part of the world all require at least a Secret clearance... which can not be obtained unless you are a US citizen.

shoot me you resume anyway and I will float it around, never know what might spring up, but you likely won't hear anything from my first line of contacts.

Canada is Hockey

Hockey is Canada

Kickserv the only issue I have with your post is your signature. Shit, your country hasn't won a Stanley Cup since the Habs in '92-'93. Your sig would be better if it read:

America is Hockey

Hockey used to be Canada

Just messin' with you man :mj07:

I worked for a Fortune 500 company and was in the top 10% in sales numbers for the entire country.

since this is true, why look to the middle east for a job where you will be an expat?

it would seem that a company in the same line of work that you did for your last company would be looking for someone like yourself either in canada or the usa?

i have been to dubai and yes it has grown more than any other city/country i have seen(outside of china) in the past 15 years. IMO you may have missed this boat by a few years.

dubai is HOT pretty much year round...

there's a TON of corruption and it is an accepted way of life and business over there so be fully prepared to deal with it on a daily basis, whether it be filling your car up with gas or closing a multi million dollar deal...

wareagle.......good stuff, and yes I have heard about the rampant corruption. As for hot, that is exactly what I am looking for! It is currently -23 outside...I am sick of the cold......hot is fine with me:SIB And as stupid as it may sound, getting a job in the US (I went to school there) is tougher then getting one in Dubai. The paperwork is a bitch! And it is tough to find a place in Canada that is hot all year long:mj07:

saint......I know your just messin with me, but Canada has won everything when it comes to hockey......had to through that in there!

marine......yeppers...I am Canadian, but maybe you can still help:shrug:

Kick, I say go for it. If I didn't have a family I would be there in a heartbeat.

For all of you miserable pricks who jump to conclusions, stop thinking other people are as stupid as you are.
