Worst and best chain restaurants

OK, I know there are a lot of them! I'm starting this thread because I want to hear some of what the other members have to say as well. I'll start it out and name a few.

Worst Chain restaurants

Applebees (service has sucked lately, food sub-par to gross)

Olive Garden (gets reward for always sucking)

Chilis (Some people like it, IMHO it sucks)

Lone Star Steakhouse (really sucks bad)

TGIF (gets 4 **** for sucking)

Red Lobster (definitely sucks)

Best Chain restaurants

Cheesecake Factory (great desserts)

Mortons (great steaks)

Ruth Cris Steakhouse (great steaks)

Joes Crab Shack (some people hate it, I really like this place)

PF Changs (I like this place)

I like Joes crab shack and Red Lobtser the same, they are both very good. I pretty much agree with your list, but I think it is unfair to compare Ruths Chris steakhouse to Applebees lol. A good night at applebees you will drop 125, a good night at ruths chris you will drop 450.

Have you heard of Pei Wei. It is a fast food chain that is exactly like and owned by the same people as PF Changs

Applebee's is horrible imo. only time i go there now is to try and pick some beaver up at the bar. food is horrible.

Outback # 1 for steak in my area as for food chains go. St. Elmo's and Shula's are the 2 best steakhouses in indy. but for the price hard to beat an outback special.

Applebees definatly sucks.

Dave and Busters is the best overall,

Quaker Steak and Lube is great for wings, not sure how many of them there are though,

and I don't know if Corky's is a chain or not, but the one in Atlantic City is excellent for BBQ.

I don't know how the hell i left this one out.

HOOTERS is freakin horrendous. The wings are not that great and anything else on the menu sucks. Besides looking at some silicone chested biatches I cannot see what makes this place so dam great. And the woman there aren't that dam great either. Its like a clothed titty bar with horrible food.

I really was not referring to the price. Could care less about that. Also, was not comparing them I was just saying which ones suck and which ones were good. I left out a lot I thought were average.

Yep, I've heard of Pei Wei. One of my buddies that lives in Arizona said one opened up nearby him and it's better than PF Changs and he loved that place. I'll have to check it out.

kniefl, from your list i like pf changs. lettuce wraps are a must appetizer. cheesecake is pricy for what you get, but its good food. can't beat the desert options. agree on chilis and olive garden for being generic and sucking.

Corky's is around here also , they are OK...
Calhouns is good..
Applebees SUX.
Fudruckers is good
I like Chili's and Red Lobster..
Ruby Tuesday is hit or miss...
O'Charleys is pretty good and kids eat free nice concept..
Copper Sellar is good... (chain ?)

Copper Sellar does have some good food but I don't think its a chain. The only one I've ever seen is on the strip in Knoxvegas.

PF Changs is the best chain, period! Great food at great prices. I would rank Ruths Chris at the top also.
Best steak in my opinion, and yes I've eaten at Mortons, Flemings, and the other big chain restaurants.

Applebees sucks!

Red Lobster tried a outlet in Maine a few years ago. Failed badly of course! :142smilie

Taco Bell is doing well in Mexico, however....:shrug:

At McDonald's there are some hidden regional gems. McD's in Maine during the summer offer excellent price on good lobster rolls, lotta claw meat. Gallup, New Mexico, McD's put very tasty green chili sauce on the $1 hamburger---counting as excellent road food bargain.

Tho the scrambled eggs with portuguese sausage and spam you get at McD's in
Hawaii DON'T count as a tasty bargain!

but with the easy to access wealth of info on internet extolling favorites of locals foodies, the
cost of knowledge in this area is now seriously reduced and there isn't much excuse eating at many chain restaurants anymore--for dedicated eaters like me, anyway!
