Had an avacado salad yesterday and thought I'd post this fyi.

"Nutritionally the avocado leads all other fruits in beta carotene and even exceeds the banana in potassium. While other fruits gain sugar as they ripen, the avocado's sugar content decreases as it matures. It contains more protein, potassium, magnesium, folic acid, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, biotin, pantothenic acid, vitamin E, and vitamin K per ounce than any other fruit.

Proof of the avocado's wealth of nutrition shows up in the USDA Nutrient Database. Though the avocado is calorie dense, (one-half cup pureed flesh contains 204 calories), the benefits outweigh the concern over its total fat content of 19.9 grams. That same one-half cup of pureed avocado packs a protein content of 2.4 grams with 3.1 grams of fiber. Using that same quantity, the avocado contains only 8 grams of carbohydrates and a surprising 704 IU of vitamin A. It's rich in the B vitamins, especially niacin, scoring 2.20 mg., folic acid registering 75.4 mcg., calcium at 13 mg., iron at 1.36 mg., and a mountain of potassium showing 729 mg. Although it has numerous benefits, the avocado should be eaten in moderation because of its high fat content."

Went to the doc this weekend and with my new cast I am back to the weight I was in college:00hour . I decided a long time ago I had to start eating better so I did my research on the internet, you know searching for the best homemade fries and stuf and it has worked out reall well. With that and the purging things are looking g:shrug: reat

Damn Gibber, I wouldn't mind trying this but there is no way in hell I could do it during the summer. Too many pool parties and lake trips to do it. At no point in the summer do I have a 21 day period where I won't be drinking beer by the water. I'm not a big drinker but hey it's summer.

Oh yeah, if you could have margaritas I might could do it. You have to be missing margaritas on the patios. :mj07: Sorry, I had to rub it in a little.

Gibber I think I'm going to give this a try.I'm going to hit the GNC store in my area and see if the have this package. Please keep giving updates.
My favorite 4 things are beer.beef.boobs,and bread so its going to be extremly hard.I would like to change the portions of what I eat but thing dropping 20-30 lbs would bring me right to my ideal wieght and make things much easier to control.
Keep up the great work and keep the updates coming.

Wesis

I posted the link on the first post if you want to check it out.

Went to the Rangers game last night. Big mistake! I never realized how much a ball park smelled like food and beer.

Everyone around us was eating nachos, hotdogs, chicken fingers, corndogs and beer. beer. sweet sweet beer.. jesus i would kill for a sip.

Enough of that now the good stuff.

I am down a full pant size almost two. My summer shirts from two years ago fit again and i am using smaller notches on my belt.

The big one for me is that i can see my jawline again. I had no idea how fat my face had gotten.

People comment everywhere i go. It feels good

I am able to eat fish and chicken now so things are a lot easier.

Only 6 more days! Light at the end of the tunnel boys

Welll I broke down at a dinner meeting last night and had a few glasses of wine... it was delicious! I got drunk fast. Almost three weeks without booze and now i am a cheap date.

Almost done with the program. We are going to quit a few days early and eat and drink whatever we want on the fourth of July. Counting the days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in all the program has done its job. As of this morning i have lost 16 pounds and back to what i weighed in college.

I can fit into my summer clothes again!

good luck to you Gibber. I do a similar diet once a year (master cleanse diet) right after the super bowl for 14 days and every time I do it I feel great. I have the best sleep ever. I loose about 15-20 lbs. My energy level is better than ever and my blood pressure and cholesterol level are their best.

I always get people telling me that it's not healthy and that our bodies are not designed to handle this kind of strain but after doing this for 5 years I love the benefits and my doctor approves of it.

what is this diet ?

i am pretty good shape, but that may be the diet i need to drop a few additional lbs.

Its a 21 day detox program.. Even people in shape do it.

The trainers are guys that train a lot of the Cowboys around here. some of the players do it once a year.

Basically you are pushing all the chemicals out of your body. Take a look at the back of some of your food labels. Take your so called "health bar" for example.. check out all the artificial crap in it.

So its very strict. Mostly raw fruits and veggies. Water and green tea are your only drink choices.
Not counting of course all the wierd shakes and supplements you have to take.

all food must be organic.. no bad stuff

the program sucks balls as far as cravings but i have never felt better in my life.

Glad it worked out for you

I am going to start a detox program in the next 1-2 weeks and will look into this one for sure.

The other program I am considering is 14 days of water with lemon juice and a touch of maple syrup, as well as a nightly herbal tea. Yours sounds more appealing because I am not into starving myself.

I tried a three day water and lemon juice fast a year ago..

I made it till dinner time.

The only thing that saved me through this was not being hungry. In fact, most of the time i was more than satisfied. Thats not to say the cravings are not bad.

But the shakes three times a day with all the veggies and fruit.. i was never hungry
