That's the thing! It's not arrogance on the casino's part. They give you that card so they KNOW you are playing, and to what extent! Telling people on a chat board eight months later that you played, doesn't do that casino any good. (And for the record, they don't care if you win. They just want to know what you played, and for how long/much money. THAT is what determines what "comps" you get.) If you never used the card, as far as they know, YOU DIDN'T PLAY!
I realize that most guys here who would go to these golf outings, would probably pay 100% for their bill. That's fine! But a member of the forum told HIS host that he had some players coming down there, and that host booked discounted/free rooms to these players, sight unseen, on his "word" that they would use these cards to rate their play. How does that player look now? Well, we see how he looks after he tried to arrange another outing.
Paying full price is fine, but just by giving your email to the casino/hotel websites, you will get discounted offers, including even free rooms!
Same for using that little card. I get one at every place I go to, no matter if I plan on coming back, or not. (Simply because you never know, and it doesn't cost you a thing to use it!) I still get offers in the mail every month from places I have only been to one or two times TEN YEARS ago!
Just for being on mailing lists, I can get a room in almost any casino in Vegas for cheaper than just booking "off the street". Monte Cralo just sent me an offer for three free nights in a suite, food and beverage, and $300 in play. I've never stayed at Monte Carlo! Only played there a couple times when walking through the casino, and getting on their mailing list!
They have to know who you are, guys.
