That Crystal Quarry course in St. Louis is kind of different. Boiler is right. The front has some novelty holes. Number one is one of the steepest holes you will ever play, like a 320 yd par 4. Then you play along some bluffs with narrow fairways and lots of water hazard. The back is flat with two par 5s reachable in two for the scramblers.

This area has plenty of fine courses to choose from. I recommend: http://www.mobluffs.com/
This course is awesome. Very wooded and well manicured. You are guaranteed to see a few deer in the fairways, turkeys and the beverage carts are always moving with delightful attendants.

Ameristar has a better hotel than the Harrahs. Both are 10 minutes from Lambert airport. Ameristar opened about a year ago and has venetian-style rooms with the step down, kick ass, kick back area. Overlooks Missouri River. Couch and separate flat screen TV. Asian hookers.

I would be happy to work with you Handicapper and see what we could get at this hotel. I have booked large groups there for work so it may give leverage, may not. (maybe Jack will play some roulette this time for chrissakes).

jaek, send me no pep's e-mail please

got on this thread way to late. Where do you want to play? Ryder Cup course? US Open course? A place so private and so nice they have refused holding any major event? Top 100 course?
Nice muny like Pebble Beach? Poppy Hills? Oaktree? Flint Hills National?

My best options would be California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Illinois, St. Louis and others in Missouri. Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina ...may have to think harder on any other state.

Two rules: perfect golf ettiquite, tip well - That means 30+% -- bag boy, caddies, club cleaner, locker attendant, bar servers, beverage cart, shoe shine, and most importantly the ranger. A sleeve of new balls will work, but no cheap shit.

Second rule, buy $100+ at the pro shop BEFORE you tee off! Then thank the pro shop staff after your round, buy something small and slip the guy at the counter 10 bucks. These guys make minimum money.

Those two rules will make you famous, talked about around golf shops nationwide, it is our ticket to anywhere the following year.

If still interested, shoot me an email or comment here. I'm retired, but been in the business 35 years, lots of contacts.

I can only tell if tits are fake by taste. :mj07:

I'm in wherever we decide to have it. Remember if you keep it within driving distance, I can provide the rolling bar again this year.

Makes no matter, yo!
Roll-Tide Man:Like
that reference to "ROLLIN BAR"!Think I coined
that pharse!Will be with you again"Slim Boy"&
brother too.Also,Jack-Man,my brother Joe is
already comped @ Belterra& he plays heavy!
Maybe they didn`t "count"him in our group??
Like the area, but count us in!:toast:

Horseshoe can get us "Casino Rate" for rooms but we're gonna have to plan way ahead for this so we can get on the golf course without any problems if we have as many as last year. I think 32 golfers played.

It doesn't matter to me where we have it and I'll get a sponsor for some of the stuff.

Discuss so we can plan this out.

St Louis doesn't sound bad to me either

Hell, I bet Wayne can get something setup pretty nicely in Bowling Green

Belterra can be fine too.

You guys decide and soon and we'll put it together.

:00hour

Could get good playable course with major hotels right next to course--however some may miss the casino atmosphere afterwards--plenty of bars however.

St. Louis, I have several: Two best would be Old Warson (very, very private with members like Stan Musial and a host of Cardinals), - Bellerive Country Club - Us Open, Ryder Cup site. I have 3-4 more if interested.

kc, thanks but most of this this crew wouldn't know how to act on one of those courses. they'd run us off :mj07:

Jack,

My vote is Horseshoe but will accept whatever. Like having a casino and a place to hang out after golf..i.e. bar, restaurants etc all under one roof. It sounds decent too. Plus, I can see relatives in Louisville a day early while there. St. Louis is a haul from ATL, and would actually pass on going there, but I'm sure you guys would have fun there.

Bowling Green would be very boring for most I think, and I would vote for another option although we could add in something like a skeet shoot or 4-wheeler riding at my farm which is 30 minutes out of town in the boonies.

for the golf - i'm thinking that getting us all off in order at horseshoe is going to be difficult. although i prefer that casino to belterra. but i quit casino gambling so i don't care :SIB

it would be difficult at belterra as well but we have kevin and tonkgolf to help with that like they did last year.

no pepper probably can be a big help with the golf in st louis.

just throwing this out there

plus, the people that did gamble and use their cards will get comped at belterra. just not the whole group.

it may sound like i am pushing belterra but i'm not.

I agree Clint--would be great on the golf and hotel location--but little more. I'm sure I could get good rate from Jeffers--

Was same course we played Jack.

So far I'm leaning with Wineguy--and not sure I make the St Louis trip.
