$3.63 is about the best I've seen in the Wilson/Goldsboro, NC area. I understand part of the problem in NC and SC are the pipelines that supply the Southeast. They were damaged when the last hurricanes hit the Gulf area and the supply went to other parts of the country. A week ago, Deputies were guarding the few gas stations in the Charlotte area who even had gas and there were lines there reminiscent of the gas shortage of the mid-1970's. The supply is expected to normalize by next week and we should see prices start to drop. I sure as Hell hope so! I'm currently working as a hospice nurse and am averaging about 2-1/2 tanks a week with only $.38/mile reimbursement.
