I think if I get shaded alternating rows for the threads, I'll almost be there with a few tweaks.

Try checking threadbit_alt_background and threadbit_background

StyleVar What it Does
threadbit_background Controls the background for a thread bit.
threadbit_alt_background Controls the alternate background for a thread bit.

These weren't in the dictionary but I found them by right clicking on the post list and inspecting element - Check and see if they show up

class="threadbit alteven ">

PHP:
<li id="thread_533755" class="threadbit alteven new">
<li id="thread_533754" class="threadbit altodd new">

Agreed.
Def a huge improvement from the first roll-out!

The margins have become very wide since last night. The forum part needs to be longer and the margins shorter.

try clicking this on the right hand side

I'll make the forum a little wider then let me know. I did shorten it this morning.

I added the 2nd line - very bottom in php code below, (Note - Same style from threadbit sticky) and it did make the change to the 2nd column. Still working on the rows, but maybe try copy pasting

GOOD
background: #555555 url(images/gradients/grey-up.png) repeat-x left bottom;

instead of

BAD
background: rgb(111, 111, 111) url(images/gradients/grey-up.png) repeat leftpx bottompx;

PHP:
.threadbit .alt {
    background: #555555 url(images/gradients/grey-up.png) repeat-x left bottom;

Still working - shall revert

Threadbit template?

Yes - but changing the background on the .alt changes the second column instead of every other row

Then there should be a few things here

threadbit .sticky
change background color so all stickys have the same shading

.threadbit .nonsticky, .threadbit .deleted, .threadbit .discussionrow, .threadbit .ignored {
change background color so all rows have shading

threadbit .alt
change background so every other line is shaded differently
(THIS IS WHERE I'M STUCK)

That has me baffled

Maybe something has to be done in the css templates? :mj16:

I sent you my template and you will see that I have done that but I don't think I have this in there and I don't know where to put it.
{vb:raw $rowClass}

You have code already that alternates lines
PHP:
</vb:if><vb:if condition="++$altrow % 2 == 0">    <vb:if condition="$rowClass = 'alteven'"></vb:if><vb:else />    <vb:if condition="$rowClass = 'altodd'"></vb:if></vb:if>

When you got to stylevar can you try searching for alteven or altodd

I'm curious if it will show up in there

I know if we get shaded columns and alternating row shades, that's all that's missing.

threadbit_background

threadbit_alt_background

What values do you have for them and what happens when you change them

Is this what you were talking about when you said changes weren't working?

I had a little success when adding this line to the firebug editor
PHP:
.threadbit .alt {    background: #777777 url(images/gradients/grey-up.png) repeat-x left bottom;}

It just colors one or the other, no alternating.

Check the sub forum page though. Strange.
