Ok... Answer this question for me.

In America, everyone is entitled to an education, legal protection if you can't afford an attorney, but how come we dont say everyone is entitled to health care?

Why should someone else be forced to pay for your health care? That's your business. Not your neighbor's. Not the government's.

Try turning the question around: why are we forced to pay for education-that-ain't? Why are we forced to pay the legal costs of criminals?

that is my question exactly?

Isn't healthcare a little more important? What do you think?

I'm glad you are seeing it my way. I would rather pay for some innocent old lady's healthcare than a POS criminal's court appointed attorney. Hey... he even gets a free appeal as well... (i think)

and education is education... you get what you put in.

I am in college now and paying for it. I could give two shits less and sneak by and not learn anything.

I don't care what school you go to, you have to give a little to get a little.

Agree?

The kids from the inner-cit schools, or let me rephrase that, the "POS" schools could go to a one of the best private schools in the country and still learn the same thing.

What has its being more important got to do with its being an entitlement?

Either you make your own decisions for health care, or you turn them over to the government. In the form of someone like Hillary Clinton, which is to say an utter incompetent without any clue that she's utterly incompetent. She will then charge you hundreds of billions of dollars, and see to it that you get whatever care she and associates think is appropriate. Which means, after she and her cronies and her 1001 special-interest groups have eaten out the buffet, you'll get to lick the sneez-gard.

You shouldn't be theorizing about this stuff if you're really interested. Socialized medicine has 100 years of history behind it. The upshot is that it doesn't work. It means waiting lists and huge taxes. The fools say its free, but nothing is free, and socialized medicine is a lot more expensive than market medicine. Of course we don't have truly free-market medicine now because of exactly the market interference the socialized-medicine crowd wants more of - and the problems caused by that are used as the pretext for further government expansion into what is properly the market's domain. The media are whores, and they will always side with the politician who want to expand government into new areas. The fact that government does not a single thing well never fazes the morons. Hillary Clinton not the slightest doubt in her head that she is fit to devise a health care system from scratch, and that it will be miles better than what we have now. All you'll hear about in the media are greedy insurance companies but the truly greedy party is government. Always.

I'm glad you are seeing it my way. I would rather pay for some innocent old lady's healthcare than a POS criminal's court appointed attorney.

There's no relation between the two; why conflate them?

It sounds nice to say everyone should be entitled to this or that. Politicians do it all the time because most Americans are borderline retarded. I'm sorry. That wasn't nice. Most Americans are almost as dumb as the education majors who teach them in public schools. They don't grasp that that "free" health care comes along with yet another giant deduction from your paycheck. Plus, when you get sick, your choices are limited. Many times you have no choices at all. Because, as all recorded human experience has shown, bureacracies cant know all the information necessary to make the right decisions. That's the job of price in a supply and demand system, as we sort of have now. Sort of because the health care is already half-socialized, and messed up because of it.

Yes. The point is that people are FORCED to pay very high property taxes to maintain the "free publication education" entitlement, even though schools are designed to produce morons. If you homeschool your children, because you don't like the garbage taught in public schools, you still have to pay the property taxes. Entitlement = enslavement in a very real sense. Only children think things of value can be had for free.

The kids from the inner-cit schools, or let me rephrase that, the "POS" schools could go to a one of the best private schools in the country and still learn the same thing.

Democracies, in order to sustain the myth of equality, must pretend that any inequalities are matters of funding or access rather than inbuilt limits. But that's a separate issue.

Government should be taking care of it's people.
It's not your fault your sick so why should you pay for it. It's not like anyone will take advantage of it, no one wants to be sick on purpose.

One thing I can't understand is, the USA is the Richest Country in the world ( until China takes over in a decade or less) and the US
Government will not and can not take care of it's own
It makes no sense

We have Free Health Care in Canada and it makes total sense. I get hurt, go to the Hospital and pay no bill.
I know it comes out of our Taxes, but I mean, I'd rather pay for health care than anything else.

the problem is; everybody DOES have health care here but a lot of people, and i know a shit load of them, don't PAY FOR IT because they can't collect from them. they own nothing!

if you own property, have a decent income, pay taxes, etc, etc, etc, you pay out the ass for your health care because if you don't, they'll take your stuff.

and, a lot of people get it from their work for free or for small money while us self employed folk get it shoved right up our asses.

if i worked at a local market or gas station, rented an apartment, drove a beat up car and had a heart attack, i would wind up getting great health care and better than most if not all countries. i just wouldn't pay for it

but i definitely would get good care.

yeah, it comes out of your taxes. they MAKE you pay for it.

nothing is free.

and i've heard that there are huge waiting lists for certain procedures up there. maybe you don't get the care you need.

i had a stress test done a few weeks ago. since heart problems run in the family and me getting up there in age i thought i'd get it checked out.

i was in there for an hour and they billed my insurance $1900 and change for the test. WTF?!

since they have an agreement with the insurance company (BC/BS) the 'allowable' amount is only $700 and change. i paid 20 bucks.

i would have been billed the big amount if i didn't have insurance.

what a fkin racket.

Yeh I know.

you got to have a thick skin around here or you dont last long.

I have to think I have been called out of my name thousands of times.

I have a pity party occasionally to let it out.

Good luck golfing.

I have not golfed now for about 4 years.

If I were to crash the golf outing, I was thinking about renting a rabbit suit. When you guys hit the 9 hole , I find Eddie and .......

I would bet I could talk my way onto the course somehow.

not sure how I would conceal the bat though.

It would be worth it , to be done with Eddie

once and for all.
