U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday he had no interest in running for the White House, declaring on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" he was not about to give up red wine and cigarettes to be president.

Asked by Leno whether he ever thought of running for president, Boehner replied, "No.

"I like to play golf. I like to cut my own grass," said Boehner, the top Republican in Congress. "I do drink red wine. I smoke cigarettes. And I'm not giving that up to be president of the United States."

Boehner also told Leno he and Democratic President Barack Obama "get along fine" despite their political differences.

"But the country's gotten more partisan. So as a result the Congress has gotten more divided and there's less common ground," Boehner said.

Asked by Leno if the infighting in his own party was as bad as he had ever seen it, Boehner said, "Oh, no," before adding with a smile, 'Well, maybe it is. It's bad."

Since early 2011, Boehner has fought with conservative Tea Party Republicans in the House, mainly over deficit-reduction tactics. The government shutdown in October further frayed relations with right-wing groups.

As a Republican senator, Kit Bond voted against the federal health care overhaul. Now lobbying for a prominent business group, Bond is pushing Republican legislators in his home state of Missouri to embrace a key provision of the law by expanding Medicaid eligibility.

Bond said Friday that the potential to reap billions of dollars more in federal funding is simply too important for Missouri to pass up, especially for hospitals that otherwise could get stuck with higher costs for treating the uninsured.

Kumi Naidoo, International Executive Director of Greenpeace, addressed the struggle of climate change during an interview with HuffPost Live at Davos on Saturday.

"The struggle is not about saving the planet. The planet does not need saving," Naidoo said. "This fight is fundamentally about securing our children and grandchildren's futures."

Naidoo proposed a better way to address a problem like climate change.

"I think you actually need to address the power of certain industries... and if you look at the power currently of the oil, coal and gas sectors, it's overwhelmingly powerful," Naidoo said.

"For every member of Congress, there is a minimum of three and up to eight lobbyists" employed by those industries, Naidoo added.:SIB:SIB

"They've got to understand that nature does not negotiate," Naidoo said in reference to political leaders.

Naidoo also said the World Economic Forum's approach to climate change was good, but slightly off the mark. He said the question asked of each problem at Davos was "how do you make incremental improvements without fundamentally changing any of the existing power structures?"

"There's a real denial about how serious of a situation we are in already and how fast we are getting to the brink of disaster," Naidoo said of climate change.

"I candidly think (the Obama administration) got snookered," said the GOP congressman. "I think they just wanted a deal," he added.
-----------------------?
I candidly think that you've got to be snookered to say something likie that anonymously. If you had a fraction of the "take ownership morals" that conservatives always claim to have, then you wouldn't talking in such a cowardly fashion.

Of course, all the administration wanted was a deal of some kind. I think that they wanted to test Iran, while you, Mr. Anoanymous, probably want a war. I realize that conservatives don't need valid reasons for starting wars, but I am thankful that liberals do.

Another shooting?

And so it goes in the USA

The largest ( and growing wider ) income disparity
A shrinking social safety net
no food stamps
no welfare
no unemployment
A corporate controlled govt that shuts out the general populace
A fear based medai that broadcasts the worst in humanity 24/7/365
A GOP culture that thinks more guns are the answer.

And....so it goes

Jerry Springer stood behind a recent theory that Fox News is fading away and will eventually fail, despite the network's continuous winning streak over the ratings.

The talk show host agreed with New York magazine columnist Frank Rich's latest piece that Fox News is heading toward termination. Springer said in an interview on HuffPost Live Tuesday that the conservative network will lose its power as the country becomes increasingly liberal.

"Liberals always win," Springer said. "The way that humanity progresses is that initially conservatives who want to conserve as things are will fight any change, but eventually the people that want change will win.... Roger Ailes has a business model that works. He sells his news to a particular market that wants to hear that, that's fine. But what he [Frank Rich] means about it dying is that ultimately, the conservatives will lose!"

Springer has spoken out before against Fox News. And although the network just dominated the ratings again in January, Springer said that the falling popularity of cable tv makes that one high point insignificant.

"What is it, 3, 4 percent of America watches it [ca

Three men were sentenced to death by guillotine.

The first one, Rush L , is laid down, his last words are "God bless us all", the blade is released, and miraculously comes to a stop a foot above his neck. The priest calls it a sign from God and lets Rushy who was sweating like a pig go.

The second one, Hannity , lays down, says "I'm sorry if I ever ever offended anyone", the blade comes down and stops mere inches from his neck. The priest grants the man his freedom.

Teddy Cruz lays down. The priest asks him if he has any last words. Cruz looks carefully up on down both sides of the guillotine, and says "Ya know, if you added a little grease up along there this thing would work a lot better."

Ann Coulter can?t stop raging against Hispanic voters.

The conservative pundit blasted House Republicans as "sell outs" in a column on Wednesday for crafting guidelines on immigration that would create a mechanism to grant legal status to undocumented immigrants, saying that the growing Latino population will ?wreck the country.?

?Leave aside the harm cheap labor being dumped on the country does to the millions of unemployed Americans," Coulter writes. "What does it mean for the Republican Party?"

Casting aside conventional wisdom, Coulter says that embracing immigration reform would make the Republican Party lose voters. She argues that Latinos and other immigrant groups, particularly Asians, are so liberal on issues including Obamacare, gun control and the role of government that they?ll never vote in large numbers for Republicans.:142smilie

Coulter refuses to acknowledge public opinion on the immigration issue, writing: ?The only ones opposed to our current immigration policies are the people.? In fact, polls routinely show that a majority of Americans support immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship for the undocumented -- a more liberal stance than the one released this week by House Republicans, which would only create a pathway to legal residence.

To back her assertions, Coulter cites a study by Phyllis Schlafly, a fellow conservative pundit who has called on the Republicans to keep their party as white as possible.:SIB

Coulter violated the embargo on the study, writing that it was ?too important to wait.? The study was not provided in the column, so it?s not clear what new information it contained. Coulter writes that the study brings together several different previously released surveys by Pew, Gallup, Latino Decisions, and other pollsters showing that immigrants and Latinos tend to lean more liberal than the average U.S. citizen.

?The people that Republicans ought to reach out to are white voters,? Schlaflly said last year during an appearance on conservative radio show Focus Today. ?There is not any evidence at all that these Hispanics coming in from Mexico will vote Republican.

One week after a documentary was released chronicling her husband's 2012 presidential campaign, Ann Romney again reflected back on Mitt Romney's loss, pointing a finger at America in the process.

In a Friday interview with Fox News, Ann said that while the election ended more than a year ago, she routinely runs into people who are "still really sad" that President Barack Obama won a second term in office.

"We lost, but truly the country lost by not having Mitt as president," Ann Romney told Fox.

she runs into ppl at the country club
wow what sore losers the Mittsters are , they just cant let it go
Hey maybe they can get the nomination in 2016 over crazy eyes

............................................................................................................................

If Romney had been elected President.

1. Paul Ryan would be Vice President and would continue to do nothing.

2. The cabinet and upper echelon of Federal departments would be run by people with an antipathy toward the mission of government. No blacks or hispanics allowed.

3. The GOP would not be soul searching and would be pushing even harder on their agenda, convinced by the election result of their divine righteousness. Ann Coulter elected pope.

4. Congress would be gridlocked, and Harry Reid would be the most powerful man in Washington. The ACA would not be repealed.

5. The Keystone pipeline and expanded offshore drilling would be approved. Most incentive programs for alternative energy would be closed down by Executive Order.

6. The GOP would still be splintering. The inexorable forces of demographic change would continue. The Tea Party would be outraged by the lack of "principle" in the White House. Ted Cruz would criticize the President.

7. US military intervention in the Middle East would be rising, with a new surge in Afghanistan, expanded naval deployments in the Persian Gulf, and aerial sorties over Syria. The use of drones would continue. Four US citizens would be killed in Benghazi. War with Iran started over wmd's. Should last 20 yrs tops.

8. Russia would be pissed off. We would be planning a boycott of the Winter Olympics, and Romney's friends would be prepping an alternative event in Park City, using government handouts liberated from alternative energy programs.

9. The economy would have continued a painfully slow recovery. The deficit would be rising. The debt ceiling would be raised without argument.

10. Presidential approval would be 32 percent only 2 years in. Hillary Clinton would be the front runner in early polls for 2016. Ann Romney would be bitter and tell everyone she raised the kids herself over and over.

Job application:president of the USA

Fill all sections:

Applicant?s name: W. Mitt Romney.

Current Position: Technically unemployed but money shepherd that herds money to lush paddock where it can graze undisturbed by the rule of law.

Current Income: mind your own business.

Job expectation: It?s my turn. If the Bush?s can do dynasty so can the Romney?s.

Tell us about your previous career/s? CEO of Bain Capital.

What did your job entail? I?d rather not talk about it, good things but if you really knew I wouldn?t get the job.

Other career experience? Governor

Tell us more about your experience in this field: I?d rather not because people know too much already so I?ve dropped it off my CV.

If you are successful in your job application what are your plans? As I?ve made it very clear in the past if you knew my plans I wouldn?t get the job.

Foreign policy experience: A successful 3 nation tour where I earned the nickname of Borat apparently a famed and esteemed European diplomat and raised cash from foreigners and non-American bankers.

Why would we choose you over another candidate? I have been on every side of everything so how can I go wrong, you tell me? I?m a renaissance liar.

Military experience: I dodged the draft and went to France and have refused to visit the troops in Afghanistan.

What do you hope to gain from this experience? No bid contracts for wars I fabricate so people I know who own the for profit war Industry receive no bid contracts, weapons sales and of course my customary commission as a fixer.

Who is your real base? About 100 people but hopefully they can afford to spend enough billions and own enough of the media to soften up, hopefully enough people to fall for me as a potential president.

Do you have any hobbies? List them. Money, hiding money, avoiding paying tax on money, picture framing money, needlepoint sewing images of money, money origami, stuffing mattresses with money, swimming in my money vault and lying.

If chosen what will you do? None of the things I promised because I said I won?t get the job if you knew. Repeal and replace Obama from Obamacare and replace it with my name care.

What were you counting on to be selected? Collective amnesia and gullibility of more than half the population.

Application Rejected soundly
