You like that one, and now that you are drinking BL I thought that was appropriate......

Anyways, and as a reminder, Ben played with a bad arm pretty much all season, and why he held onto the ball too long, because he didn't have the zip and waited for guys to become completely open. Last week, he looked crisp IMO. Part 2, I thought the Steelers were going to sign Franco back as their RB's have been a mash unit all year. Moore? or you kidding me, all he did for Minny was return punts, and they signed and resigned Davenport. Parker was hurt all year. So all this information and a $0.25 will get you the sports section to take a shit with. Now, go cry me a river......

Pittsburgh 24-Baltimore 9

XOXO

ben always has an excuse :violin:

is he able to fit into his regular helmet this week :mj07:

i'm not predicting anything, just hope for a good game.

when somebody tells me Flacco completes 40% as a norm and that's why they will lose, i will show him why he doesn't know what he's talking about.

and to say the steelers win because BAL has no offense, i just show him where he's wrong again.

enjoy the game.

All this chatter with QB ratings, past games, injuries, and bye weeks don't mean dick. These two teams will go all out for 60 minutes. IMO there's only 2 guys that can beat Pittsburgh, and that's Big Ben or Tomlin. If Ben doesn't make mistakes and Tomlin doesn't make stupid moves they will advance. The Ravens need to do something special on offense or they are toast. Flucco will get a heavy pass rush and be put to the test with no running game. Say what you want about Ben but he has made big plays when he had to this year.

I AM T-MINUS 14 HOURS FROM DEPARTING WEST TO CHECK INTO HEINZ TO WATCH THIS GAME. TO HELL WITH THE COLD, IF THE STEELERS WIN, IT WILL FEEL LIKE 65 DEGREES.

:mj09: :mj09: :mj09: :mj09:

what changed? we ran for over 100 yards both games and controlled TOP

why even mention that if it means "dick".

just sayin

you're right, i have no idea what i'm talking about, the ravens have been lighting it up on offense in the post-season

211 total yards (vs 400)
11-22 passing
13 points on offense

286 total yards
9-23 passing
20 points on offense

now they face a defense that's better than mia or tenn and at home in the cold/snow......another similar performance to what they've shown on offense and they will get beaten soundly.

as for the injuries.......eventually, they take their toll esp when they are to key players.....rolle, suggs are key players who look like they are out....mclain didnt look the same with his ankle injury and heap is obviously hurting.....if you dont think these injuries matter, you're either a homer or living in a fantasy world.

takikng your viewpoint...balt could win, but it wouldnt mean i was worng!

i'm talking the WHOLE year not 2 playoff games. if you base your bets on the playoffs you're missing a lot of good information.

ravens have faced that defense (PIT) 2 times this year. there's no secrets here. just sayin....how did the steelers fair against the titans defense or eagles.

cold/snow means nothing, HF does, that's why PIT -6

although the books are reeling the PIT backers in based in the last game. they KNEW the betting crowd would be just like you so they added a couple points ;) nice value there.

oh, and the injuries. guess what? i bet everybody plays, just like they have all season. maybe harbaugh is sandbagging

steelers are facing a tougher defense than the chargers, no? :mj07:

your original arguments are off base is all i was stating.

you don't know what you're talking about with this game, plain and simple. nothing to be ashamed about :toast:

(i'm just having fun with this as you know this game is important to me as a fan)

enjoy :mj06:

quite honestly, i could care less what a team did in sept so i dont look at 16 weeks of data....in this leauge youre evaluating players who are on the ir and teams who have long been eliminated

i really like to only look at the last 4 weeks to tell me how a team is playing and in the playoffs i dont like to look much into the regular season as it's irrelevant now

as for the line being set at 6....i think it's a no-brainer for the sheep to jump on balt....two close teams, low scoring, in the cold, 2 games that could have gone either way, both decided on the last play but now i'm getting 6? easy money.

to me, that's the trap.

these teams are fairly equal, however i see pitt as being able to score td's at home, not turn the ball over like miami + tenn, and that balt offense not being able to keep up

close for a while but injuries mount, people disappear from balt, and they must rely on the passing game, sacks and turnovers happen....27-10 pitt sounds right.

good luck, as a fan wish my team was still playing.

if you think it's fair to compare pit's win vs the chargers and the ravens win vs the titans, you are way off base. the competition and hf was way tilted in pit's favor. come on, man.

pit wasn't even in the game vs the titans when they played each other. pit lucked by dallas at home and ravens beat them solidly in dallas.

pit beat bal by a blown call by the refs after bal lead the game wire to wire.

this game is a flip of the coin and anybody that lays 6 points is simply pissing away money. maybe not tomorrow, but in the long run.

bal dominated mia and beat ten with def like they always beat the teams they play.

your argument is getting better but still not good ;)

Or the books are reeling in the Baltimore Ravens backers by putting a line at 5 or 6 when many think it will be a FG game. Christ MJ, the point differential is 3.5 from both games this year, and Baltimore could have won both. Why isn't the line 3.5 to 4? Not buying your HF spin. We could make a case each way, Baltimore just went in and beat the No.1 seed in Tenn, the same Tenn who kicked the shit out of Pitt. Baltimore was -3 at home against Pitt, and now a 9 point swing for HF....no way even though Pitt was about the same line at home earlier in the year on Monday night when nobody knew who Flacco was or what to expect from him.

One thing worth considering that I haven't seen anyone mention is that while Flacco might show nerves under pressure he hasn't so far. But Roethlisberger has. He was totally wound up in the Super Bowl, and it required the combined forces of the officiating crew to save him. Now, we're a couple years down the line, and he's shown to be a quality QB, but still the fact remains. I would not be surprised to see Roethlisb. buckle in the way some predict for Flacco.

i don't know. an extra game played by bal, injuries

the books set the line so that they can get equal money on both sides. if they eff up they move the line.

i do think we'll see some line movement late tomorrow afternoon.

see what happens.

good point.

as a fan i'm actually getting tired of the rookie negative crap all year long. he really hasn't bent too much or at all, that's for sure.

should be a good game. i can't wait.

hey, i'm a homer so take with a grain of salt, which obviously most around here do. but...i do know this team and i like their chances tomorrow.

at least we got gjn's pre-game thoughts down on record so he can't be chirping with his post-game remarks saying.... whatever ;)

all in fun, gjn, all in fun :toast:

good thread, nelson.

All I'm sayin is that if the Ravens don't get their turnovers they are toast. They have survived thru the playoffs with int's and fumbles. Let's face it, if Crumpler holds the ball inside the 5, the Titans probably win last week. And Reed's pick-6 turned the game around vs the Phins.

I'll bet the house that the Ravens do not get 100 yds rushing tomorrow. Beside, that's not how you beat Pittsburgh. They will air it out early and often, and if Pitt doesnt double Mason I'll be ill.

As for those club seats, they might be talking about a section in front of the jumbotron, pretty much isolated from everything. They are great seats if you can afford em.

If ands butz candy or nutz, dz nutz..........here you go boss........first AFC Championship for Big Ben after having a rookie season for the ages.....another reason why I don't think Baltimore will let Flacco air it out as some think. TO's game over, no TO's defense will keep them in game and perhaps make a play to win.....

On January 23, 2005 in the AFC Championship Game in Pittsburgh, Roethlisberger completed 14 of 24 pass attempts for 226 yards and 2 TDs, but he also threw 3 costly interceptions, one which was returned for a touchdown by Rodney Harrison. The Steelers lost the game to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots by a score of 41-27.

when Flacco airs it out it's a poor percentage play for a completion but it's a safe play. if it gets intercepted it will be deep in pit territory, so like a punt. if he happens to connect.... :mj06:

if he's under pressure, he'll throw it away.

half of his passes will be just like that, so just hope like hell he doesn't connect because if he does :mj06:

not to mention it keeps your def honest and helps our 4th best nfl rushing game.

;)
