Green Egg vs Grill Help

Bought a used Weber from a friend here in town and saved 300 off a new one....has the natural gas hook up too so no more running out of propane....now I have a 300 dollar head start on my Kamado Joe!!

Well here is the choice I made...so far so good...normally my chouces don't work out...paid 400 for her...probably overpaid, but I'm too baked to negotiate....did me well today

Good that you got the triple burner. MOM Method is great, check out Webers website. With my new one that has searing station, I sear all my beef, including burgers, and slow cook em using MOM.

That's exactly how I cooked that pork roast!! Indirect heating at it's finest!! I hope to get a good 10-12 years out of this sweet little lady....

cant tell from your pics, but if you have to replace flavorizer bars or grates, go stainless. Just got done cookin chicken squirts on mine

It's a grill and a smoker........so yeah, you won't need a grill.

For me it is a no brainer. Egg all the way.

It doesn't have to be a BIG GREEN EGG either. As long as the thickness of the ceramics is the same, save a little cash and get the biggest one you can get

We actually decided to go with the Green Egg and a flat Asado grill by Lynx. No gas grill.

I cooked on a flat grill in my college days when I was a cook at Outback. A bit more versatile for fish, tortillas, hibachi and your steaks dont lose all the juice through grates like on a standard gas grill. Also pancakes and bacon outside by the pool on a Saturday morning sounds awesome.. Oh yeah we decided to put in a pool!

Signed contract today. As soon as the permit goes through they break ground on pool and kitchen..Cant wait!

A little box shows up on my Ipad. And shows it is... I learn it or go bald! Already bald!

I tried to Upload video, it showed it, then compressed it, then I have no clue where it went. It says to drag it somewhere but nothing visual shows to drag it. Hmmm!

Left to get some birthday gifts when it was at 165?...asked the wife to take ot off in 45 minutes...csme home 2 hours later and asked her how it came out...she turned white...yup she forgot...women[emoji35]

Curious how long do you cook your ribs???

Some say 3hrs, most say 4, some say 6

Almost exactly 4 hours I kept them on. I should have perhaps took them off at 3 1/2. First time trying to keep temp at around 250. I think I was too high to start for about 30 minutes and a little under the last 30. Using the air vents had a learning curve. We used the Pecan wood chips, and loved the flavor of the smoke it added.
